Not to rush you or anything... but get it done quick so you aren't working on it on Christmas! Thanks Stogie... I'm not sure any of us have an idea how much work you put into this place behind the scenes!

I don't know if this is different, but I thought when we got notification of a PM and opened it, it would open a new window. Made it very easy to go back to what I was doing. Maybe it's always been like this, I don't remember, but is it possible?

No it kept the same window.

Before the update I would get a notification of new PM, then a prompt to confirm I want to open a new window. The new window was smaller than my normal IE window and square rather than rectangular. I agree with Shelby - made it easier to go back to what I was doing when the notification hit.

You know I have to say that it seems like everyday the members of cigarlive make me want to do things that will help in every way.

The version of software I am using is still in Beta version so it means probably about a month from now I will have to do another small update to go to the final version. I know it will be more work but I did not want us to even be one month behind on technology. The reason I do that is because you people are a family to me. The board will be back to what it was before but cleaner.

I had some complaints from people that the old board was hard to navigate for people. There are some new features that this software update has including "Your Album" to make multiple albums in your profile. More storage for storing the pics but we got a big server.

Ya know, Daniel... I don't think there's one person here that doesn't know that. The effort (and the money) you put into this board to give us someplace different and friendly is really appreciated. You may have a couple of disgruntled detractors out in la la land, but we all know the kind of person you are and we all love ya for it!

There were 2 prompts (look like javascript alerts):

Alert1: You have received a new message
Alert2: Would you like to open it in a new window?

...and then the new IE browser (resized) window would open. I don't recall if the first prompt actually contained the name of the person sending the message, but I think it did. The second prompt may have been a standard IE security prompt for opening a new window from clicking a link.

In your options under Profile make sure you have the Message pop-up toggled on.

Messaging & Notification

If you are browsing the forums when you receive a new private message, the system can pop-up a notification box informing you of the new message.Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up
