Well, I just had my first Don Kikki red and I must admit...it was rather unmemorable. In fact, I was so excited about receiving them today and wanting to try one, I settled myself with a nice brandy snifter of Buchannan's scotch, a very nifty favorite scotch for me and lit up the Don Kikki. Before I explain any further, I must admit my palate is not doing its thing today and I already put out two other smokes before they even got a 3rd of the way burnt because of the lousy, yukky taste! With that said, I continued with the Don Kikki....it was very forgetable from the get-go. I must admit, the cigar is well constructed, draw was very good and burn was excellent, but the taste...well, to use a phrase that goes around Cigar live...it was a DOG ROCKET! But, I continued on to halfway and finally got a nice, hint of sweet nutty taste, but that didnt last long. I tried everything to make my taste palate accept this cigar...smoked slowly, put it down for a few minutes, smoked it hard...large, billowly smoke....nothing, but just smoke! Finally, I let it die a normal death in my ashtray with the thought that I will try it once again after they have aged a few months or so in my humi. I bought 3 boxes, (2 golfer specials and the DK red's) and I want to not give up on them. There is a good one in there somewhere!

Wow Chuck,
Sorry to hear that. I smoked a DK Red and I rather enjoyed it. I guess all cigars are NOT created equal, huh? I'm sure you will enjoy the next one. by the way, what 2 cigars did you let die prior to the DK? if they were good ones that you usually smoke, you must admit, you probably just had a bad day or coming down with something. don't give up. those DKs are actually tasty and damn good for the price!

I like the Don Kikki Brown label but found the Green to be to mild for my tastes. I've never tried the red. I hear good things about the Cabinet Select and the JL Salazar. They are on my list of cigars to try.

Very nice ash. I have had the Kiki Red label churchills. Very tasty but mild, a good everday stick for the price. Flint

Hi Milt,
Did you ever get the smokes I sent???? As for the DK's, I am sure they will come around. Today, my palate was much niftier (if it could be described that way) and I enjoyed some great smokes....Camacho Perfecto, Omar Ortez toro, and Gurkha Ancient Warrior... The Warrior kicked my butt a little bit...well, a lot!
Anyway, let me know about your pif smokes!
Best

I love the Don Kiki Brown labels. The price point is superb, and they are tasty. They are full bodied. I also tried the limited 2000 white label. It was mild but very complex.

Well, I am glad I held out a little longer with the Don Kikki...I smoked the Green today and it was great...not excellent, but great. I am about to light up my 2nd chance at a DK red and see if that matches with my first one, or is it going to prove to be a good smoke like the DK green was? Will let you know!
Best
