Smile Eagle Rare, Jim Beam Black, and a ton of smokes

The DHL man dropped off some smokes from the Devil Site and I picked up a couple of drinking buddies at the store. First up, the Eagle Rare Single Barrel (90 Proof) - this was a reinforcement for a bottle that served valiantly but needed to be retired. Then a new one for me, the Jim Beam Black (86 proof). This I believe is their best regular mass-produced bourbon. Aged 8 years, it has a lot of the same qualities as the Knob Creek, but without the 100 proof burn. It is yummy - has some real sweet notes when taken neat.

Cigars are Gurkha Fuerte Toros, Gurkha Triple Ligero Toros, Casa Torano Toros, and 5 Vegas A Apex.

You can see more of my favorite libations in my profile - just go there and click the Eagle Rare bottle on the right hand side of the page.

I picked up 15 of the Gurkha Fuerte and 5 of the Gurkha Triple Ligero. The lighter cigars on the bottom row are the Carlos Torano Casa Torano. Torano makes good stuff - I like all their cigars. The Casa Torano is supposed to be mild, but I would really put in the mild-medium category. It has some nice umpff to it. Oh, and of course, the others are the 5 Vegas A Apex...a nice maddy. I had a 5 Vegas A toro this morning and it was very nice.

That Eagle Rare Single Barrel looks amazing! I always love any Toranos, it just sucks cause I cant keep them at my B&M. I have been trying to stay away from the devil site but it looks like I will be paying a visit soon. Very nice pickup John!!!

The Eagle Rare is a classy 10 year old bourbon and it comes in an absolutely beautiful bottle. I can get that at our local "not cheap" grocery store for about $24, so it is certainly not an overly expensive bottle. The Jim Beam Black is really nice too, and is $20 at the same place. If I could find a better source, both these should be considerably cheaper.

The Casa Torano is a nice cigar and is a little out of favor because of the focus on the new Casa Torano Maduro. I got these at just $13/5 pack. Can't go wrong at $2.60 a stick.
