Layover in Newark,NJ Cigar lounge or bar?
Ok guys,
I have a long layover in Newark Tues. night and have been looking for a place to hang out for a while. Is there a cigar lounge fairly close to the airport that I can hang and kill some time nearby. Hopefully somewhere that is open late. My flight lands in Newark around 8:00 and I don't fly out until the next morning. Thanks, Mike |

There is nothing nearby Newark airport. However, if you can get up to Fairfield, NJ (about 20 miles) you are welcome to come to The Metropolitan Society as my guest. It is a private club.

This fellow gets into Newark at 8pm. JR's, while a nice place, bangs up around 9. He'll get there just in time to watch the guy lock up.

By the way, there are a ton of hotels in Fairfield with airport shuttles. If you come into Fairfield via a shuttle I can pick you up and drop you off. Bob

I have heard good things about the Metro Club.....I live too far in PA to join .....but from what I hear its actually pretty awesome and since there really are not any lounges closer then NYC and Fairfield is not that far sounds like a great offer.....if you go I would love to hear your impression of the Club.....

Newbie in the ocean

If you feel like jumping in a cab to Manhattan check out the Cigar Inn on first ave in the 70's. they are always open late, sometimes 'til 4+ AM. guys bring movies to watch and generally just hang out. Then there's a 24 hour dinner within walking distance fro before you head back to the airport. Let me know if you need any more info.
