Re: is it worth it

Knowing what other people pay for them, the prices here in the UK are, well.... yes, worth it for a good cigar, no not worth it when compared to what it's really 'worth'. But then how do you measure the worth of a good cigar? A cuban cigar is worth it just the same as a non cuban cigar... if it's good, it's good, if it's shite, it's shite.

Re: is it worth it

that's a mean question smoke.

many, many people here dream of one day smoking a cuban. but since they are virtually unobtainable (in the us), we shan't be able to.

so we don't torture ourselves with the question.

Spend some time reading, and you'll probably get a better sense of what Habanos are all about and why they are sought after. However, really the only way to answer your question is to try a few for yourself, except if you live in the U.S. - then you're out of luck

That just about sums it up. It's all about perception, I've smoke a few cubans over the last 3 years. Some were good, some were awesome and some sucked.

Re: is it worth it

Recent changes to the Cuban Assets Control Regulations, 31 C.F.R. Part 515 (the “Regulations”), administered and enforced by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”), have prompted OFAC to revise the Cuban Cigar Update:
"There is now an across the board ban on the importation into the United States of Cuban-origin cigars and other Cuban-origin tobacco products, as well as most other products of Cuban origin.... Importation of these Cuban goods is prohibited whether the goods are purchased directly by the importer or given to the importer as a gift. Similarly, the import ban extends to Cuban-origin tobacco products offered for sale over the Internet or through the catalog mail purchases."

Just out of curiosity though... does anybody actully get busted if they try to bring a box in? In Canada we have some items that are illegal, but for the most part, nobody really cares.

Good question. There's gotta be some stats out there. I'll see if I can get any.
