I have some nice ones...but for the most part, I use the cheap ones because I keep them in my pocket...they take quite a beating.

One of my buddies is the same way... he likes the feel of it in the hand better. I like the xikar for its hand feel.

I'd say go to a B&M and play with both before buying.

Thanks for the responses so far. Yeah, I will definitely have to try them out before I make a purchase so I know which one feels right for me.....

Thanks again....

Jason, I picked up a Cuban Crafters 'perfect cutter' at Ottawa Cigar Emporium for $40. You can buy the same one on-line from the Cuban Crafters website for $15 (plus shipping). It looks vaguely like a Davidoff (Double-D), and is goof-proof to use, i.e., friendly to newbies like me. :-) It isn't as cool as the Xikar, but I found the 'perfect cutter' cuts, well, perfectly every time - I think this is simply due to the design.

1. i tried a Xikar for the first time during a recent herf in Houston. i love it! as soon as i can afford it, i'm getting one myself.

2. never tried the Palio.

3. punches seem to do a pretty good job (until they get dull then they start splitting cigars).

4. i have a DrawPoker also and use it very rarely. does a pretty good job.

***i would definitely recommend the Xikar!***

As the rest of the BOTL's have stated, you can't go wrong with either. I currently have both the Palio and the Xikar and they both have an outstanding warranty and they work extremely well. It's a can't miss situation.

I love my Palio. It is more compact than Xikar and fits my hand better.

You are safe with either brand. They both stand behind their products and are good companies. I own a Xikar and Xikar Scissors, I have thought about picking up a Palio to have as well.

Xikar makes a great cutter. My problem is that I always lose them...

for a cheaper option go with the cuban crafters double guillotine, great construction and lifetime warranty but not spring loaded, works great for me though

They both do the same job and they do it well. I've had both and love my Xikars...I have three. My Palio was chewed up by the dog and when I asked if they'd warranty it, they laughed at me. Xikars are metal...no teeth marks
