XIKAR!!!!!!!! If for no other reason then they look cooler then any other cutter. Honestly though, you can't beat their customer service and warranty!!

Im thinking about investing in a palio. I have always used a xikar, but my friend has a palio i tend to use often. I really like the palios. Either way, you cant go wrong!

I've got both, and I just enjoy the Xikar more.... fun shape, fun action, wonderful cut, top-notch customer service.... the list goes on and on. Go out to your local B&M, play with both, if available, and make your own decision. You really can't go wrong either way. I'm not a huge fan of the punch, although it is a great way to smoke cigars that would otherwise have an undesirably easy draw. I have one of those, too, but use it very rarely. Like I already said, it truly comes down to personal preference - much like the cigars themselves.

OK, here is my take on cutters. Now, I love my Xikar, and they do have some of the best customer service you will find anywhere. But, I have pretty bad hands. Carpal tunnel has taken it's toll on me over the years, and a XiKar can be tricky to work sometimes. For that reason I would recommend a Palio. They other up side to a Palio, they offer an in-store warranty. If for any reason you need your cutter replaced, you just bring it back to where you purchested it and they'll give you a new one no questions asked. XiKar you have to ship back and wait for a new one.

I also think the Palio is much sharper then the XiKar, and makes a much cleaner cut.

I'm a Palio guy. I've had it over a year now and it gets plenty of use. Still it shows absolutely no signs getting dull. Perfect razor sharp cut everytime and they stand behind it for life.

I have Xikars and a Palio... I love them both, and the Palio has an edge in cut quality IMHO...

I have heard a lot of good things about both Xikar and Palio. I had tried several cheap cutters but always had trouble getting good cuts. Went with Xikar mostly on looks. Never tried a Polio but getting a good cut with my Xikar is so easy I am sold on them. The life time sharpening warranty is a big draw.

I have both. The palio goes EVERYWHERE with me, and has been flawless for about 2 years now (as long as I've had it.) The Xikar stays in my truck, the spring inside is busted, so it doesn't like to open. I am going to send it back to Xikar and have them repair it, I just haven't gotten around to it, because I don't need to use it, and I like the cut of the palio better than my Xikar.

I have two Palio cutters and absolutely love them. I keep one in the car and another at home. Superb cut from a Palio! Another cool feature is the Palio is shaped so you can set your cigar down on it and the cigar won't roll off.

I just placed this on another thread, same topic:
I have two Xikars, wood handle and composite. They are great cutters!!!

I've had the wood come off three times (original and replacements), sent the broken one in to them and got a new one back - just got another new one! Warranty is super!!

Never had a problem with the composite handle unit.

Check this site for a Xikar if you don't want to mess with bidding.

Not a bad price at $21.91 - if you like red that is.

To me cigar cutters are like guns. You have the cheapie ones, then the ones mentioned above. The Palio to me is like a Glock. Its made out Polymer and it can take a beating and it will always work the same! Then you have the Xikar, which to me they remind me of a nice 1911. They are nice and flashy and work nicely but are delicate. They require sharpening and maintenance here and there just like a 1911.
My old Palio that I lost recently, I used to clean the blades with alcohol then lightly and I mean lightly add CLP gun oil on the slides , then wipe it down again. It worked flawlessly!
I say try the Palio, then go for the Xikar if you're displeased.
