Don Pepin and Torano?

Hey all,
I'm looking to "venture" into some new brands. I have never tried a Torano or a Pepin. I like very strong and spicy cigars, so which lines of both makers should I try?

Thanks all
Rich

Re: Don Pepin and Torano?

Hey Rich- when i hear spicey i always think of the Perdomo La Tradicion Maduro or the CAO Italia.

as for your two options, ive never had a Pepin, and the different Toranos ive had were not all that strong

Re: Don Pepin and Torano?

Yeah,
I guess it wouldv'e helped had I clarified "spicy". While not a fan of any Perdomo product, I did like the Italias (despite some weird burining issues with the ones I've had). I really dug the...
Joya Antano
Punch Gran Puro
La Aroma de Cuba
Camacho
and Davidoff Millenium

Those are my idea of spicy.

Thanks
Rich

Re: Don Pepin and Torano?

i hear you on Perdomo. I love there Champagne LT smoke and thats it. that Maduro i referenced was way to peppery and a little harsh like the rest of there line (excusing the Edicion de Silvio)

Try the Torano Signature, it has a nice brazilian bite to it ala CAO Brazilia and Gurkha Anchient Warrior

Between Pepin and Torano, DEFINITELY go Pepin! (Tatuaje, Hanaba Leon, etc...)

Which of the pepin's is the fullest/spiciest? Now, I'm gettin' stoked! Who's a good retailer of the Pepin cigars.

Toranos are great, try the exodus 1959 for a very full bodied smoke and a buzz to boot.

Re: Don Pepin and Torano?

I'll chime in and agree with all those who mentioned the Torano Signature. Great smoke...you feel the spice build up in your throat similar to how the Series R Maduro does.

I used to LOVE the early prensado. I remember when they first came out. They were a promotional size that if you bought three Hoyo's you got the Prensado free. After the overwhelming reception, they made 'em a regular line. Those first couple productions runs of the Prensado were freakin' amazing! After that IMO they went downhill (although in all fairness, I haven't had one in about 2.5 years).

Re: Don Pepin and Torano?

I love everything Ive had from Torano, but in my experience, they haven't all been spicy.. The sig series was creamy to me.. as was the 1916 cammie.. The Virtuoso however had a nice spice to it.
