Padron 80th

I finished smoking a Habanos 40th Anniversary and decided I was in the mood for a second cigar, so I grabbed my Padron 80th Anni that has been sitting in my humidor since Colin gave it to me a few month ago.

I don't know if it was the two cigars in a row or the lack of food, but this thing kicked my butt. I have the shakes. I am going to lay down and die now.

I had that same experience this weekend with a different cigar. First time this has ever happened to me, and to be honest...it was not pleasant!

I've had this happen a couple of times - no explanation for at least one of those instances. I had just finished a big Thanksgiving dinner and lit up a cigar I had smoked many time before with no ill effects. All of a sudden, I felt like crap and had to lay down with a fan blowing on me until it passed. Definitely not the memory I would want to have of a Padron 80th.

I have a La Flor Dominicana sitting in my humi that is supposed to kick my ass pretty good, and a Jose Seijas thats notorious for that as well.

Glad you 'enjoyed' it! Haha. It's not every time that you give someone a cigar that they have to lay down and die. haha. I hope it was more than just strength for ya because I've been enjoying those quite a bit.

I've never quite gotten to the point of shakes but a Perdomo Cuban Parejo definitely got the best of me a while back - so far, that's been the only one to hit me that hard.

The 80th definitely has that strength that sneaks up on you. But they are so delicious that its worth every bit.

I'm much better now after eating some food! Usually when the nicotine gets to me I feel sick to my stomach, but this time I was dizzy and shaky. Weird.

The only cigar that made me a bit queezy was the Opus X , XXX power ranger.

LOL...I did that before...I was driving and have a nice stash of smokes with me. I had 4 sticks in a matter of 5 hours of driving and when I stood up...whew. I didnt know my name. I had a RP Sungrown, Oliva V, Don Peppin Blue Label, and La Flor Dominica Double Ligero.

Lesson Learned.

havent had that in a while, when I started out however it happened a lot with some of the cubans... Later learned that they where to tightly rolled... Nowadays it doesnt happen anymore, mostly because the daily nicotine intake is sufficient enough to tackle even the toughest of smokes

The Ashton VSG made me buzzed for a while. I had the hot sweats and light headed.

Smoked a La Flor Domincana yesterday (Ligero) and it was great. Very peppery with great flavors. Read the Double Ligero is much stronger.

I had that happen with a Litto G Chisel last summer. It's a great stick, but I was fishing in my boat from the bow seat. About 2/3 of the way throught the stick it got to the point I had to throw it overboard before I fell out of the boat. It hit like a ton of bricks. I just had to sit still for about 20-30 minutes or so until it passed. I have a box of 80ths arriving today and can't wait to try one!
