Yeah...that'll work for the box cutter, too.

Seems to me the safest thing is to just take along a cheapy cutter and not worry about the randomness of the TSA screeners.

I'd be frickin' pissed if a screener took my Xikar. I'd go balistic if I then found out later that it was actually an allowed carry-on.

So - to avoid dying of an early age from a cerebral hemorrhage, I'd just take a $2 cutter - it beats biting the end of the cigar off.

My thoughts exactly - why take a chance that the one TSA guy that doesn't realize you're allowed to take them on confiscates it. Not worth the headache or the heartache. I always take a punch on me and pack the Xikar and V-cutter in my checked luggage.

Have traveled with cutters dozens of times, and still have them all. No, you won't lose them. After all, you have the ultimate option of not boarding, which I would do if they wanted to confiscate anything of mine.

I'm a gambling man and sometimes I can get away with a bringing a cutter or lighter on board - but then again I've had cutters stolen out of my checked bags!

We are working on some type of TSA-friendly cases, but in the meantime I will admit it can be up to the mood of the TSA employee.....my MTX was taken off my keychain once!!

The phrase is a veiled challenge, often used by security/police (although very outdated), as in "if you feel froggy, jump." He was basically telling you not to get carried away to the point that you got yourself in trouble. You have to realize in every situation like that who has the power. When you're going through airport screening, they have it all and you have none. Period. And I can't remember the last time I flew and didn't have to take off my shoes. In Atlanta, shoes off is standard, though I've never been asked to remove my socks.
