Humidor Upgrade

Two months ago I had to buy a bigger humidor and now with the two humidors I have, I am almost out of space. Luckily I have a 100 count humidor I bought at cigartoyz.com on the way. My question is how often do you have to buy a new humidor to stock your new acquisitions?

A few years ago, I bought bigger humidors until I decided to go with tupperdors. Last year, I bought 6 tuppers and still couldn't keep enough free space for acquisitions. This year, I decided to rent a locker at the B&M. A month later, it is getting full already... It's a vicious cycle I tell ya!

I started just over a year ago with a 100 count desktop. Last summer I converted an antique ice chest into my new humidor. I will probably build a bigger ice chest humi this spring.

Since July when I started smoking cigars on a regular basis, I went from a 25ct to a 120 ct and in December I upgraded to a Trivoli Cab that holds 300 up top and room in the bottom for about 24 boxes.

I just upgraded as well. I keep a small 100 count humi and a large 500 count. Although, at this point in my life diapers and food for the kids have prevented me from spending much on my cigars...my count has fallen to apprx. 40.

Time to ration the smokes!

I started with a 50 ct, and that lasted for about a year or so. Then I got a 100 ct a couple months ago and then I got a 75 ct kind of at random.

I got tired of buying a new box or piece of Tupperware every few weeks - just picked up a wine chiller that I'll be setting up this weekend. No matter what, it's never enough for long.

I've had a medium sized coolerdor with beads, for several years now. It holds the boxed stuff and my daily smokes go in a 75 stick humidor with an Oasis. I also have a few Tupperware with beads I use for loose sticks I'm aging.

Have to say....trying to keep half a dozen containers ALL properly humidifed here in the land of LOW humidity, as well as knowing WHAT is WHERE....finally got to me.

Last month after MUCH soul searching and thinning the herd in my gun safe a bit.......I ordered an Aristocrat. A few sizes up from the end table model.
IIRC...23" wide, 25" deep and 40" tall. I ordered it with two drawers up top,and two shelves below, all with full pullouts. Glass top and doors, in brown mahogany. WHAT sold me was the set and forget humi system. As well as finally seeing one in the flesh! What a piece of superb workmanship!! Reminds me of the pieces of Stickley furniture we have; Old World Craftsmanship. and Bob is a great guy as well who stands behind a superb product.

If one looks at the cash outlay for several hundred quality sticks NOT keeping them properly stored and especially humidified is just senseless as well as poor economics .

I started last year with a 150 ct. desktop my sons got me for my birthday (love those guys). It's packed full and I have some small humis as overflow storage. So I'm in the process of converting a dorm-sized fridge. Got the beads and hygro from Heartfelt and some Oust fans coming from ebay. Just put the beads in tonight and I loaded it up with my empty boxes waiting for it to stabilize. Dang if it isn't almost full. :baffled:

Started out with a small homebuild cabinet which was about 150 count... About a month ago I bought a bigger cabinet which should hold about 2 to 3k, which should last at least one decade(and if I ever outgrow that thing i'll have the money to build a walk in humidor)

I usually end up purchasing a new humi after spending some time at the Devil Site!
