Smile If you owned a B&M...

Your budget is $1,500,000.00 and you are awarded a loan in the amount of $450,000 (if you need it).

If you were the owner of your own cigar shop and or lounge...how would you have it set up? Which B&M would you try to model it after? What would make your store different from all others?

Hey, we can at least dream about it, right?

I would model it after Tobacco world down in Marietta, Ga. When I visited that B&M I was amazed at the selection and the great lounge.

Also the area you put it in. I would put it in a working class area. The people that come in and smoke in the lounge are very diverse and just all around great people. I might be biased being a working class person myself.

Mark - I agree with your location. I too am a working class guy and have found that lounges/shops in such areas are the most fun for me to be in. Relaxed environment and friendly people.

I would do it just like I did it, but make the humi 2x bigger and the lounge closed in for a more "private" feel (and to keep excess smoke out of the sales area). When we get 9-12 guys in there, which is quite often, even the smoke eaters can't keep up. Other than that, it's pretty bitchin the way it is. Then I'd invest the rest in an Emu farm.

Mike -

Emu Farm! I was just reading an article about the new and fast growing popularity of Emu meat. Interesting...

I like the video on this site about Robustos Cigar Lounge in TX. I wish I had an excuse to go to Katy, Texas.

Actually been thinking about this. Maybe after I get through playing in the sand box I can open a place in a high traffic tourist area in the hill country of Texas with a resturant for the wife to run and next door a cigar/coffee shop for me to play around with.

This is a great goal Bob! During my wonderful stay at the luxourios "Million-Dollar Zone" resort (Al-Kindi) I set goals for myself and my family. I tried to stay focused on getting out -----

I will have a smoke with you in the lounge as soon as you open the doors to your shop when you get home! ...and I won't refer to you as a "Ulooj"!

It owuld be a cross between Sports Bar/restaurant/cigar bar. Lots of TVs for sports events, bar for drinks, and a restaurant for food like a chilies or TGIFridays.

I'd have a huge walk-in in the center of the room with windows so you would look into it with a lounge going around it. Leather couches, nice ashtrays. Mosaics of cigar box tops adorning the walls, with some pictures of famous people who came to visit. A special walk-in humi in back, divided up for a few of my local CL buds (and to store my ISOMs hehe). I'd also have a nice coffee bar somewhere in there.
