We don't get a lot of snow, so when we do, we don't have the equipment a lot of northern (anything north of the Red River) cities do. Sand is about it, and that's not useful on snow, just ice. Therefore, it drives us crazy.

I'm 50 miles east of Big-D, and we got maybe 1/2 an inch, and that didn't stick on the streets/roads.

You know, i've lived here all my life and i've seen alot , and I do mean alot, of Yankmes move down here and make fun of ...."can you guys even drive in the snow?".... that is until they run into what we call bad weather. 1" of ice covering everything. Let's see how all you experienced weather drivers handle that.

Ohhhhh I'm so scared. All of us in New Hampshire where we've had 110 inches of snow this year are just shaking!!!!

I was in South OK, and they got about 4 inches there. Me being a South Louisiana boy, I was getting worried about being able to get to Love Field in Dallas to catch my flight Friday. But by Friday morning it was all good, I still missed my flight, but as much as I'd like to blame it on weather, I can't.

Regardless of where you live, snow/ice driving sucks! I've lived in New York my entire life and never had to deal with worse snow than when I moved upstate to go to college. 2 inches of ice over the road is nothing to laugh at. Snow/ice every 2 days starting in October until April is just insane to me.

I wouldn't laugh at the drivers in Texas. I don't care who you are or where you live, if the roads aren't cleared you're gonna have problem on the road. The problem is that they don't have the equipment to clear the highways. Of course, when it's 10 degrees here and 70 there, I think I'd rather have their problem.

Where would you be with your 110 inches of snow and no plows to clear the road? Probably at home or in a ditch somewhere.

By the way... 110 inches could fall in a week out here in the mountains. I'd say we know how to drive in snow, but when the roads can't be cleared, the city shuts down (just like in Texas.)

You missed the point completely: ICE. People can drive on snow. Ice is the problem. And, from what I've seen on the news, Yankees don't drive in bad weather any better than we do anyway.

Nativetexan is right. Here in MN we get anywhere from 100-200 inches a year. I actually love driving in the snow. But like NativeTexan said, ice is the killer. I have lived here since 98 and have been in school since then and haven't had one snow day. But that is because we have the resources. Take Texas, they aren't gonna have all the plows and sand needed to handle a snow storm in a couple hours before people start going to work which is why it seems that they "can't drive in snow". I'm also a firefighter here so when it snows I know we are gonna get slammed with accidents even here in MN.

I've seen hail in San Jose... twice.

But the rain in the winter makes driving really hard. Reeeally hard.
