what do you consider an "everyday" smoke

Okay, I know that there is a budget cigar section here on CigarLive, but that is not the purpose of this thread.

What I want to know is what everyone considers an "everyday" smoke. Seems like most of the smokes in my humidor start in the neighborhood of $5.00 a stick and go up from there. While I don't smoke everyday, I usually do smoke several times a week and puff through 2 - 3 sticks at a time (especially on the weekends).

Smoking my way through $10 - $15 (or more) each time seems a bit pricey to me, but I have not had much luck finding cheaper smokes that I like.

So, my question: what do you consider to be your everyday smoke? Is $5 too much? too little? Do some have more expensive tastes? Some cheaper ones?

Let me know.

25 years ago I smoked cigaretts about a pack and a half a day. In todays costs that would be about $5-7 so that would be my cap for an everyday smoke. That just so happens to cover about 80% of what we smoke here on this board if you buy from the devil site you can have 2 a day of them ...

Not to sound like a snob but I only smoke once a week so I will usually smoke only premium cigars so I'd say I never smoke anything less than $5 unless they are amazing (few and far between imo) or have been gifted to me.

I don't think I can accurately answer this because I rarely even smoke the same thing twice in a week. Some days I may smoke two $20 cigars and other days I may smoke two buck-a-sticks. If I had to pick an ideal price range it would probably be $1-$3. I can't really afford more than that on my budget but that's never stopped me.

I would agree with Mike & Kory on this one - my opportunities are infrequent (maybe a couple times a week, at best) and I may enjoy an expensive one and then the next week enjoy a cheapie.

If I smoked "everyday", my "everyday" smoke would probably need to be around $2 a piece at the most (figure it's cheaper than a Happy Meal).

I open my humi, and pick one. I don't really have a price range. Depends whats in my humi, and what strikes my fancy. It could be a $0.50 cent cigar FO reserva, or it could be a $15 Padron Anni... Just depends on the mood for me.

Heh... Squid® smokes five cigars per day... <G> I simply *love* determining what my next purchase will be! I have a 500 count humidor and 2 84 quart Coolerdors... <G> I generally allow new purchases to sit a few months, except for the exceptional few... HAW! That's usually every purchase except the ISOM's...

Like some of the others have noted. It depends on the day. Rarely if ever, do I somke back to back the same sticks. If I do, it's a Padron 64. Otherwise, I usually like to change it up a bit.

Great question...I smoke 4 or 5 everyday so this question hits me everyday, "what to smoke right now?". First, I try to sample all of the less-expensive bundles purchased by smoking just one and then check the experience into my brain (which is dwindling quite rapidly) and set them aside for "resting". Next, I usually go to a "good-tasting" smoke and try to recapture the same experience I had with that cigar! The next one, is usually about the same process and I continue this throughout the day each time I smoke. When selecting a smoke, I am caught in the trap of trying that expensive cigar but that is short lived. My choices are not about the price but about the taste! For instance, the Mosaico perfecto #1 is every bit as good as AF Short Story....yea, that is my palate, but a wide difference in price!
If I can leave you with one thought I have learned, life is short, so enjoy whatever smoke you enjoy and dont look back! And, if it means smoking the same one ten times in a row, do it regardless of price or another's opinion! It is your palate, IT IS YOUR CHOICE, and that is the most important thing whether you smoke once a week or 5 or more a day! Just my two cents worth!
Best,
Ylo2na

I smoke between 7 and 12 sticks a week. One every day with my coffee and the rest at work depending on the weather and whats going on. I rarely smoke the same one twice in the same week. My sticks average $5 and up with few below that. I like variety so I choose according to my mood.

Jim,

I assume Your buying your sticks at a local B&M and You've not tried online vendors?? As You mention the cheapest You find is in the area of $5 each. You need to get online as there are amazing bargains out there that can really broaden your cigar horizons.

By my thinking You need to get online as You will be amazed what's out there in the under $4 even under $3 range. My "everydays" ; Carlos Torano, Don Tomas Cameroons, The Edges by Rocky Patel, Partagas, St Luis Rey, Gispert, CFO reserva #7's, and a few others. My everyday smokes go anywhere from sixty cents to about $5. With the occasional "treat" thrown in that doesn't count.

My everyday is something I enjoy, can afford, and is readily available. My current rate is 1-2 a day.

Not that I smoke everyday....sometimes I'm not able to. But most often I find my most common smokes in the $6-$8 range....Dona Flor's, Perdomo, Edge, etc...
