Doh, I just took another look at the cigars, because I thought they'd be salvageable, but #1's wrapper leaf is basically completely destroyed and flaking off. #2 is slightly better.

Definitely don't ship anything fragile like this in envelopes, USPS treats envelopes extremely roughly. I shipped a CF card once in an envelope, with bubble wrap, and USPS managed to chip and crack the card.

Oh, if I sounded pissed off or anything, I definitely wasn't. I'm grateful even for these samples. #2 looks like it could be smoked, and #1... well, maybe if I find a large jar of pectin, it could be smoked too.

Smoking the #1 now. I am about 3/4 of an inch into it. Wow its good. I am tasting hints of leather, cedar and cream. The wrapper is tasty. The only hard part is smoking through this nasty weather we have tonight here in houston. I am in my front porch sitting in a corner to avoid this 40 mph wind gusts.

We figured out that they got crushed in the mail. From the damages it looks like they were put through a mail sorting machine. We plan on getting some new samples boxed up and sent out to the guys who won the contest. Sorry about this guys, I will check with George and see how many more were left from the blending cigars we had. If not we might just send out new cigars that are the actual cigar that will be released. No matter what they will definately need to be boxed.

Yes the bands were approved on Friday and should be printing next week. I also decided I will start taking preorders soon. I will announce it on the site as soon as the website is complete in the next few days.

Here is the band for the Argentina Puro in Blue. There will also be bands for the other blends in red and green.

I am really excited at this point and I am lucky that George has been there the whole way to guide me with decisions about the cigar. Everytime I call him on the phone he reminds me that this is alot of fun for him in creating something like this. I just can not believe we are finally going into production.

Simply WOW!

Great work, and you should be proud, this really is a great accomplishment. Love the simple look to the band as well. Can't wait!

I haven't received mine yet. I know it does take a least a week or so to get things delivered to me in Canada from the southern states. But I guess from what you are saying they will probably be damaged like the other ones. I will let you know what they look like when they arrive.
