I really like the JR EDICION LIMITADA ALTERNATIVE from JR cigar. They are about $30 for a bundle of 20. JR has a number of good knock-offs, but you have to do some experimenting to find what you like. Hope this helps.

Have you tried the Oliveros line...mild to medium and on Cigarbid.com all the time. Check out Habana Cuba, Tierra del Sol and Oliveros Classic. You can usually get a bundle of 20 or 25 for under $25 and they are a very, very good smoke. You also might want to try the Mosaico Perfecto #1 at Famous-smoke.com. An excellent smoke and compare very favorably to AF Short Story (at least for my palate and I have both). Perfecto's #1 on bid are usually $20 to 25 on bid...dont pay any more than that because they are there all the time. Try these, and, if I am right, you will trust my judgement and I can recommend more in the $2.00 range!

I love the Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduros, and the 5 Vegas Series 'A' are also pretty good, and you can get them for under $2 each off c-bid pretty easily.
