Do they even exist?

A really decent $2 cigar?

No problem finding really good $4 smokes, but I can't really afford to smoke the $4-$6 cigars that I love every day. Can a guy who wants to put in a few inexpensive bundles find a very good $2 smoke?

Certainly that question begs a second, what do you consider a good smoke?

I tend towards cigars that are medium in strength but full flavored, not peppery and strong. Cigars that deliver leather, wood and herbal notes. I guess the best description I can give are some recent likes and dislikes. I love the Fuente sungrown Chateau, Gurkha Grand Age and Vintage, Punch Gran Puro and Oliveros XL Maduro. Did not care much for La Gloria Cubana DR (maduro) and a couple of Tatuaje Havana VI's left me with an over peppered palate.

Suggestions?

You could check out the Gispert line of cigars. I found them to be a good cigar for the price.

I have had some good 2 dollars cigars actually. I would suggest trying the Perdomo Fresco which is a suprisingly decent $2 smoke.

Flor de Oliva Maduro & Corojo

La Vieja Habana Corojo - these are a mixed filler and are not that great right off the truck but with about 3 to 6 months of rest they smooth out nicely - some also like the maduros

Sancho Panza Double Maduro Quixote- awesome for the price!

One that I see recommended on Cigar Talk all the time is Flor de Oliva - $30.00 for a bundle of 25.

I love 'em, this has become my daily cigar. I'm not sure you're going to find the complexity you are looking for, but it is a very tasty cigar for the price.

So could you guys comment on the flavor difference between the Flor de Oliva natural Sumatra versus the Maduro? Price is great on these, eh?

Thanks for the recommendation on the Bucanero mrgatorman, I've heard of these. I think one of the dogwatch guys was lauding the Havana Rose. I'll have to try to find a fiver of these somewhere.

The Perdomo Fresco maduro is an excellent $2 smoke. You can't go wrong! Also try the Nic 3000's that Dale of the Dogwatch is in love with. A bundle can be had for around $40 which equats to another decent $2 smoke. Good luck!

I dont like the sweetened cap on the Sumatra the others in the line don't have this. The maduro is flavorful and medium bodied but all I can taste on the Sumatra is that sweet flavored cap.

Try the RP OSG - for right around $2 each @ cbid. Nice, light smoke with no bitter taste.
