Sosa

So what is your take on this cigar? I won a couple at an Ashton event and smoked one tonight. It was the Toro size natural. I had to put it down half way through. That is the first cigar I have ever done that with. I have smoked some pretty bad ones but this one was terrible to me. It was like smoking a White Owl. Afterward my tongue tasted like I had licked a$$! I have one more I will try sometime just to see if I got a bad one. The only good thing is that I also won a San Cristobal!

There is a real difference between the various Sosa lines, at least the two I have tried. The basic Sosa line I wasn't impressed with at all, while the Sosa Super Select is a regular in my humi (love 'em), and I have yet to find a Family Select to try out...

Unsure which line, but IIRC a Sosa Wavell scored a 90 or 90+ on CA an issue or two back. Wonder IF You didn't get an unusually BAD example??

It was just the standard Sosa line. I saw the rating on the Wavell and thought these might be pretty good. At least it was free and I have another one to try. Did I mention a free San Cristobal too?

Sosa is made by Fuente. It was a decent line....and then one day like 10 years ago or so, CA gave it over a 90 rating....I believe it was the torp...and then forget it....it blew up for a bit and prices went up. I rarely see this stick anymore. I kinda group along with the other second class Fuente projects such as Savinelli and Montesino.

I've bought two and both were mistakes after chucking them far too early. Not a good smoke in my opinion.
