I was putting together an order at Leaf and Ale and saw these cigars. Has anyone had one. They look pretty good. Any help is appreciated.

I think I can help. Miguel y Familia is our house cigar that is made by Oliva Cigars in Nicaragua. They are currently offered in 3 wrappers; Connecticut, Cameroon and Maduro. We had a Corojo, but it didn't sell very well, so we shelved it for awhile.
The Conny is a medium bodied cigar. It has a similar body as a Cabaiguan. As a house brand at less than $4 a stick, it obviously doesn't have the same complexity. It is, however, a very good everyday stick, especially for those who enjoy other Oliva cigars. The Cammy is almost the identical blend, but with the Cameroon wrapper. Oliva doesn't skimp on the wrapper for their customers house brands. This is a very high grade wrapper, and is as nice as I've seen on Cameroon wrapped sticks costing 3 times as much. Again, this is a firm medium bodied smoke. The Maduro is just what you'd expect from an Oliva with a maduro wrapper. Again, it's a medium to medium-full bodied cigar, and it is one of the more frequently backordered of our house cigars. Oliva takes a lot of pride in their maduro wrapper, and it seems to constantly be in short supply. Overall, these are not complex cigars, but great everyday smokes for guys trying to watch their budget. These are not cheap cigars by any stretch. This is a great cigar for guys who like the Oliva bundled cigars, but are looking for a step up in strength and quality (although I believe Oliva's bundles are among the best in the industry). Our website shows some boxes available, but I only have singles while we wait on a shipment from Oliva. We have singles of the Cammy toro and churchill (the Cammys are NOT on the website), Connecticut robusto and toro, and maduro in churchill, robusto, toro and torpedo. Since singles are not on the website, the prices are robustos = 3.60 toro = 3.65 churchill = 3.75 torpedo = 3.95 Ok, this isn't the retailer section, but Roger asked so I thought I'd answer. In fact, I'd be willing to send out a 3-cigar sampler (one of each wrapper) for anyone willing to pick up the shipping cost only. The cigars are on the house. Regular USPS is about $4.60 to most areas of the country. So you'd get 3 sticks for less than 5 bucks. The first 10 people who shoot me a PM can enjoy this offer. Roger, I hope this is the info you were looking for. But I'm not exactly objective! Mike |
