Park the car, smoke a stogie.

It's not always so easy to find a good place to relax with a good stogie in L.A., especially if the weather has been rainy and breezy as of late.
Often I smoke on Starbucks patio, but people have a way of starting conversations over it. That can be fun, but sometimes I just want to have peace and quiet and watch the smoke curl slowly in the air.
There are a few cigar lounges which are nice, but again you will be gotten into a conversation.

Lately I have been parking the car in a nice spot, putting the seat back all the way, and smoking in relative peace and quiet. I control air flow by how many windows I open and by how much.
I did this today with a really nice Perdomo, (not Anniversary, just the regular).
It was delicious, I was comfortable, nobody said "You've got to be kidding" or "Have you ever tried Tiparillo's?"...

Does anybody else do this or am I just hopelessly anti-social? Larry.

I did this today, parked right by the mississippi river overlooking the whole thing and just had a good smoke after school

my favourite is to go for a gentle stroll through the woods near my house and sit down on the grass in a little spot which i like to think is my own little secret area, im sures other people go there but ive never seen another person yet. then light up a nice stogie and relax, listen to the birds singing and enjoy som peace and "me" time. cant beat it

Re: Park the car, smoke a stogie.

I usually don't go off to smoke anyway, but when its cold outside I like to sit in my truck with the heater on and a good book and smoke a cigar. Its nice and peaceful. My book takes me away to where ever i happen to be reading about (Castle Rock or Derry, Maine a lot of the time). Its like an hour vacation.

I have a deck. Like to sit back there and chill while I smoke.

Re: Park the car, smoke a stogie.

One of my favorite places to smoke is on the deck at our condo on the Lake of the Ozarks. Love to sit out there, listening to the Cards game, watching the water, boats, birds, clouds, moon ... and enjoy a really good cigar.

The wife won't let me smoke when she's in the car. But, I love a good cigar when I'm alone on a long drive. It really helps make the drive much more enjoyable.

Re: Park the car, smoke a stogie.

I also like to read while enjoying a good smoke, either outside on the deck or inside depending on the weather. So this doesn't sound at all strange to me.

I also enjoy the "lonely smoker" profile. Nothing like sitting back at the end of the day and enjoying the silence...

I love going down to the shore of Lake Ontario which is just outside from my dorm and enjoying a nice cigar on the rocks while watching the sunset and listening to the waves.

Re: Park the car, smoke a stogie.

I typically like to smoke whith other like minded people in a shop, because I usually am all about conversations. However, I do like my Lone Smoker times as well. In the winter I will often smoke in my Jeep for the warmth, and I listen to the radio. Most days though, I smoke alone in my front yard, sitting in a lawn chair watching the birds, talkin to my dog. She doesn't argue or judge me.

Re: Park the car, smoke a stogie.

My two favorite places to smoke are 1st. riding around town with my tops off. 2nd is sitting in my cigar room, (still 90% complete. Damn that last 10%). and playing poker online or watching TV with a stogie. Either alone or with a friend smoking a stogie is a pleasure to me. Need to cut back though. Averaging around 4-5 a day right now.

Re: Park the car, smoke a stogie.

if i had a more comfortable car i might enjoy the car smoke more but this is not the case, i like ot smoke while im fishing sometimes butthe best is sitting on the beach listening to the waves feeling the light breeze reading a book..

or at my paretns house we have 3 acres of property so its nice to just hang out around there, sit in the boat and think about how nice it would be to cruise around if i stopped smoking and started to make the necessary maintenance/repairs to take it out. or just chill by th koi pond and watch the fish and frogs ect.

Re: Park the car, smoke a stogie.

I've been smoking in the car a couple of times a week during my lunch hour all winter. I even bought some mini cigars to smoke so as to not take too long for lunch. I usually get a sub and the daily paper and park at the far end of the lot at the mall across the street from my office. Some days were cold enough that I even had to leave the car running with my window open to let the smoke out.
Now that spring has arrived in Vermont I will start to use my screenhouse in my back yard. I love to sit out there after work with a newspaper or good book and have a nice smoke ... a bonus day is when the Red Sox are on the radio and winning.
