Agree for smaller desktops only. I use them in two 125 ct humidors and they do fine. They are rechargeable as mentioned above, but they eventually wear out. Beads just take up too much room in a small humidor. I use the beads in a 200 ct desktop, and my cabinet. In my cabinet, I use a pound and a half of beads and an Oasis for circulation.

The directions on the Boveda pack says do not tear or puncture package, so I'm guessing the outer package is made such that it emits humidity. But where do you place the pack in the humidor? I have an upper shelf and lower shelf. So do I just lay the pack down flat in the corner of the upper shelf?

I've used just about every item there is for humi control. I don't think you can beat the beads!!!

I bought one at a B&M only because he didn't have any water pillows. I was out of town and didn't want to risk drying out the cigars I just purchased. Ouch on the price for temporary humidification- very ouch. The next B&M we visited in the same city didn't have ANY portable humidification for sale (clerk said she could give me a wet paper towel in a baggie).

I'm sticking with the 65% Heartfelts. I put them in perforated tubos and they're absolutely trouble free. They're worth the few bucks they cost and they're nice people to deal with too.
