Arrow Boveda Humidity Packets Friend or Foe?

Hey, I just ordered another humidor and I was curious if anyone uses the Boveda humitiy packets? I like the idea, but I am a little skeptical about them. Any advice?

Guillermo, check out the humidity beads from heartfelt industries

http://heartfeltindustries.com/categories.asp?cat=11

That will be the best thing you could ever do for humidity control. Good luck with the new humi!

I bought some beads for my cabinet humidor, but in my smaller ones I use the packs and I think they are great! Work just as good as the beads and take up no space at all! The only thing they don't have going for them is the price, once they dry out you have to throw them away and buy a new one. But for somebody new to cigars are if you want something with no cares or worries I would say use them!

I agree with Frank. Before I found out about beads I used the packs, and as long as the seal on your humidor/tupperdor is good they're fine. I believe they take longer to stabilize a container than beads do, but once they get it stable they work every bit as well as beads, just cost more in the long run.

I do the same. My small, slim humidors I use the packs. The 84% seasoning pack helped bring back my pyramid humidor which I thought would never hold humidity right. It just had to so much cedar it needed the kick in the teeth.

Can we only buy the beads on line or do you think there is a chance B&M's might carry them?

I've never seen them at a B&M, but that doesn't mean you won't find them there. Call around and ask.

The bovida pack work fine for smaller humis. I never tried to recharge them like Jitzy.
Personally, I would use the beads and grab the bovida packs for a smaller humidor you might take when you travel.
