Good advice - moderation in all things - that way you can smoke cigars for many more years!

Great advice Doc. I wonder how much I save my body by unwinding and relieving my stress levels when I smoke a cigar. I live a very stressful lifestyle owning 2 businesses. My cigar is my anti-stress. Any thoughts on that issue Doc?

Couple other ones:

- swallowing your saliva and/or libations during smoking washes the smoke onto your throat and into your stomach. And to make it worse, alcohol and smoke together multiply each other's bad effects (that's multiply, not add).

- smoke outside or in a very-well ventilated area. Second-hand cigar smoke is worse than second-hand cigarette smoke (for the same quantity of smoke). For those of you who are going to point me to articles that say that second-hand smoke has no effect, please go to the various Tobacco Master Settlement websites first - where the tobacco companies' own documents show the deliberate misinformation campaigns that have been run - and the (suppressed until the Master Settlement) tobacco companies' OWN research that shows that second-hand smoke is harmful.

Anyhow, I'm not anti-smoking - but a wise person knows and understands that there are risks with any pleasurable endeavour.
