Like DOZER said it is an investment with your cigars, its better not to rush, so I would say calibrate it. Personally the salt test is easiest (and cheapest ) way to do it.

And it will only become worse When I first got into cigars I never thought I would be as 'obsessed' as I am now. I have one piece of advice that I can pass on. It is not through personal experience, more from what DOZER has said Stay well away from the Devil Site!!!!

FYI I just bought 3 of the very same digital hydrometers. One was dead on, one was 7 % high, and the other 5 % low. So with just that one brand there was a 7 % swing. So you have to calibrate any kind of hydrometer.

They ship them with the cheapies because they want to save money, not give you the best quality.

If its off you will just have to remember by how much. Mine are white so I'm going to write on them with a marker.

Oh by the way the last two analogs I got have been dead on, but I still don't trust them to stay that way.

Question

how long should you go before you re-test them ? after the batteries go out...or is there like a standard amount of time before its good to recheck ?

i tested my digi it read 72 in the salt test..so im only off by 3, which makes my humidor rite at 71% after 2 days, its reading 68% constant now for an hour. so i guess that i was successful at seasoning my first humidor !! thanks to all for the help again.!!!

You can put a hole in the top of an analog and wear it around your neck--they are very pretty
