Litto's Revenge - Has this happened to you?

This was strange.

I'm smoking a La Flor Dominicana Cameroon Cabinet and not paying attention, had the ash drop in my lap. Right at that time, my cigar flared up with probably an inch flame. The only thing I can compare it to is when you are lighting up your cigar and puffing on the cigar gently. If you do it too much, you get a flame off the end of the cigar. I was not exhaling on the cigar at the time. I was puffing on the cigar. I kept my eyebrows, which was cool. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What the heck happened? Gas buildup? Beetle nest? Did Litto Gomez release an exploding cigar without my knowledge?

I can safely say I've smoked a couple of boxes of the Cameroon Cabinets and never had anything but a terrific smoke and a great burn from any of them. I would suggest this is some type of freak thing and would hope it doesn't effect your impression of these cigars.

I have smoked alot of Litto's masterpieces and have never had one flame up on me.

Litto is a stand up guy. Email him throught the LFD website and tell him where you bought it and he'll probably make good on it.

I had two Double Ligeros split on me and he took care of it.

I'm not complaining about the cigar. There's nothing to complain about...this is a fantastic cigar. This was just odd. I had never had it happen to me before on a cigar. Only happened to me the one time.

If it flared up like that, you may have had an ammonia build up. Was the cigar a little bitter prior to the flare up and then tasted better after the flare up?

I did not notice any harshness, but ammonia would seem to make sense, I guess. Thanks, Sam!

Never had flames to break out, but have certainly had ash to drop off unexpectedly. I hate it when that happens.

It was a ball of swamp gas that gathered in the ash...at least that is what the military would say....Actually I have never had a flare up before.

the only lito's revenge I ever got was smoking a Coronado Corona Gorda (7-1/2X60). I thought I was going to die after smoking that thing. Room spins. Funny, because the chisel doesn't do that to me. I smoked that thing to the nub to....
