The answer, IMHO, is that it depends.
Depends on your budget.

If you have it and can spare it, Heck yeah they are well worth it.
Best darn Cohibas I have had are in that box (Robusto, Esplendido and Piramide). I have just about every Cohiba aging and would prefer this Reserva, along with a Siglo VI or Sublime of course. However, keep in mind that they are a bit more potent than your regular Cohibas so you really have to be a full bodied smoker. I bought two boxes, smoked one and am presently sitting on the other box. Planning on letting it sit for about 10 years and see what happens.

Now, on the flip side, if the cost is a painful one, buy yourself a handful of boxes of something else with what that box will cost. And you will have many more to smoke.

They are definately great smoking cigars. These Cohibas are the strongest I have ever had. When buying the box you get all the sizes.

However just keep in mind the price. You can buy 3-4 boxes VS 1 box. If you have the money to let them sit and enjoy them go for it. If not buy a few boxes and enjoy.

My opinion is no. There are alot better bargains out there for the money. Even much of the aged stuff can be had at the prices of some of the Cohibas. Cohiba makes a great cigar (The Siglo VI is wonderful), but for $400+ a box there is simply alot more you can do for that amount of money. as Carlos said, it's all in what you can afford and Cohibas are not typically for those who like to stick to a budget.

Another "no" vote here... buy a box of Siglo IIs and IVs with your money and be happy.

If you can still find for 500.00, yes. If it's 800.00, no. They are excellent cigars if you like Cohibas.

Re: Are Cohiba Seleccin Reserva worth the price?

I smoked a couple robusto Reservas recently, and absolutely loved the taste. I hunted around for some intact boxes, and found a retailer who had them at around 750. I was able to get them at $600 ea. for 2 boxes. I like them, but then again I'm a Cohiba whore!

Like others have said, if you have the $$, then buy them. If not, then there's a lot of other boxes out there for much less money, that'll give you more bang for your buck.

Re: Are Cohiba Seleccin Reserva worth the price?

Just another sidenote. I recently purchased a box of 1997 CoRo's that are better than the Reservas, but they are also 33.00/ea as opposed to the 17.00/ea I paid for my Reservas. The Reservas are a pretty good value for mature Cubans if you love Cohibas. Just like all Cubans I have seen some inconsistancies with these. Some are fantastic while others have been good.

Beat me to it Fredster

They are great smokes and if you compare the price to others around (els that is), they can actually be viewed as a "fair" price for a great smoke. Plus they have a size that you can't get anywhere else.

Just my $.02 though, try a few a see if you like 'em.

Andrew,
Although I totally agree with you as you resonate what I said, just remember your words well.
Someday, when I finally get to dip into the box I have put away when I decide to finally crack it open, you may just get a chance to be blown away.
I will make sure to save these words for you.
Just tell me exactly how you would like these words prepared for when you eat them.
Ha!
