I would say something but it would pale in comparison to the others.......Just mold on the humidifier......nothing like the smell of tobacco and used condom smell to make you want to open your wallet.

Mold, beetle holes, and cracking wrappers, all at the same place, but the arrogance was toned down and most of the problems resolved.

Well I can't top alot of what has been put on so far but I'll list a few things.
One shop I went to had a small walk-in and then 4 or 5 humi cabinets along the back wall. THey keep all the premium stick in the cabinets in the wall, I guess for presentation purposes. I looked in the far cabinet and saw boxes of 26's and 64's covered in fine white film. To my eyes it looked like plume. This excited me. I slid the cover open and reached in. It must have been at least 90 degrees in that cabinet and these padrons were on the top shelf right under a lighting system taht must have made them even hotter. I picked up a 26 and the film didnt wipe off like it would do were it plume. I smelled the cigar and it smelled very musty. I walked over to the guy working part time and asked "What's the deal with this cigar?" acting as if I did not know Padron from Phillie. He told me that it was the best cigar they had (true), that it was Dominican (false), it was a maduro wrapper (false), and that the white film was plume. I said it looked like mold. He laughed and told me not to worry that it was a "good mold." I just said it was too expensive, bought a stick from the walk-in and left. I was at an upsclae bar in Grapevine and they wanted $8 for a Tatiana groovy blue and $70 for an opus x. I went to a shop and saw some LFD A's and did a double take at the price. They were charging cost instead of msrp. I talked ot the lady and tried to be courteous, told her she should double check the price list. Sure enough the price was wrong but she sold me a couple at the list anyways. I know that isn't bad in the sense we've been talking about but talk about poor management. Your shop isn't gunna last long if you don't turn a profit. In the bathroom at a shop that shall remain nameless I found a line of cocaine underneath the ashtray. I discretely pointed it out to an employee to get it cleaned up and let them know they should keep an eye on it. Apparently they have seen some crazy stuff. One girl walked in on 3 people (in a bathroom with one toilet) snorting cocaine. They've also found shot glasses thrown behind the toilet or in the cabinet with remnants of cocaine in them. Some people have more money than sense... At the shop I frequent I once had a woman take my cigar from my hand and just start puffing away. I handled it gracefully but it took all the control I had. I told her to keep it. She wouldn't. I placed it in the ashtray to burn out which offended her. I believe I was the one who should be offended. She hasn't been back after a few other similar incidents. Recently this guy bought a salamone. He cut it and put the foot in his mouth and lit the head. He was too far into it for me to say anything so I just bit my tounge. That's prob enough dirt for now. |

I was out of town in a much smaller area than my own, and I was trying to track down a B&M. I found a couple and this was the first I found. They had a small walk-in with sliding glass doors that I entered. I was surprised. The interior of the..um.."humidor" was covered in aromatic cedar particle board. The cedar smell was so strong I sneezed. The floor was linoleum, and I almost slipped and fell due to the extreme humidity that caused the floor to have a small film of water on it. The worst part about it was in the corner of the room, near the ceiling: there was one of those automatic air-fresheners that you see in public restrooms. It was cinnamon. Nice.

In staten island, NY in the hylan plaza there is a cigar shop owned by Koreans. They have a great selection, but the wife hates the smell of cigars and while I was in there she was spraying lysol at the cigars saying "the stink how do you smoke them" when the husband wasn't there. Needless to say I don't go back there...

I travel a lot with my job and always try to find a B&M where ever I am. Luckily I have not run into any of these situations. But after reading them I do not know if I want to go into a B&M other than my regular one. I'll just keep my travel humi packed full.
