Well, some really moldy Padron 26's and 64's. I told the worker about it and got the usual "plume" excuse, while the other person working there told me it was "ok" for them to have mold. HA
Maybe I'll think of more later on. |

I always check the hydrometer in a new cigar store. I have been in stores were it is below 50% - and cigars are very bleached from the sun coming through the windows.

In aruba 55 dollars for a siglo IV, and like 50 for a no.2 monte.

cigar prices can be another horror story. I went into a store and they had one shark 77 left in the box at $39.99. When I told the owner I just purchased a box, he offered me $475 for it.
No I did not sell it. I was 1400 miles from home and did not bring box with me; but it was tempting. In Las Vegas Opus X are often $100 apiece. My cut off line usually is aroung $20. I can get two boxes of Gran Habanos for that price. So I'll take forty good cigars over one outstanding cigar. |

I think my worst is at a local liquor/wine store there's a small walk in with a general selection of normal smokes. I went in a few weeks ago and saw that he had some H. Upman's, some kind of signature series or something. They said something along the lines of Cuban seed and had a picture of Cuba. Well the dude had a hand made sign above them advertising them as "Real Cuban Cigars". I explained to him why they weren't Cuban, but he didn't listen. Even though the bottom of the box says Made in Honduras.

haha these are great/terrible. Here's a strange one:
Megan (my girlfriend) and I walked into a wine store/cigar store in the Del mar area to check it out. The cigars were overpriced but they had a decent selection so we looked around. She saw a Te Amo and thought it looked cool so she reched for one and got stung on the thumb by a bee. Yeah... a bee in the humidor. She threw threw it down and ran out of there scared to death. We haven't been back. |

Puffer Fish with some spikes

Was in Tampa few months ago I stopped by a shop on the beach (very touristy area). They rolled cigars there and walked into their Western Red Cedar lined humidor and almost pucked from the smell. Fresh rolled cigars, ammonia & Red Cedar yuk !!
Was in Savannah in May and went into a small shop with a small humidor. Avergae selection. All the pipe tobacco was stored in the humidor and every cigar smelled like, you guessed it, pipe tobacco. Even a full box of Opus. |
