Worst thing you've seen in a cigar store

The other day I stopped by a local "smoke shop." It's one of those stores that smells like incense when you walk in, but I knew they carried cigars, so I thought I might as well take a look while I was in the area. When I walked in the humidor, I could tell just from breathing the air that it was way to humid. Sure enough, the cigars looked terrible. Many of them were closer to white than brown. If you've seen a cigar butt in the yard that has been rained on a few times, you get the picture. It was by far the worst humidor I've ever seen.

What's the most disturbing thing you've seen in a B&M (beetles, bad sticks, etc.)?

I was at an event recently and offered a free cigar to complement my purchase. The free cigar clearly had white mold on it, and when I mentioned it to the guy behind the counter he responded, "You should know what that is - it's plume!".

I have nothing but respect for the owner, his shop, and this certain brand of cigars, but that is unacceptable.

The worst thing I've seen is a cigar store.... I'll take mold any day over this....

A used condom dangling over the shelf! Talk about sick! Come to find out, the shop owner was doing you know what to this chick several times a week after hours and he thought she had thrown the condom away. I saw it, but I was not the one who found it. A lady in her 50s pointed it out to the part-time employee!

I had something good in mind, and then this was so disturbing I forgot it.

DB, can I guess which shop hahahah DOH! Here's one you'll know Dave...

I walked into a shop and there wasn't that yummy tobacco smell, not even the smell of incense... nope. It was a STRONG cedar smell. I mean like gerbil shaving cedar smell. It was so string when we walked in the person I was with asked where the gerbil cage was..outloud to the guy. Yeah. So you know the cigars were umm... very unique.

The worse is the one that I got attacked by the cat in. Think of a junkyard with a humidor. Cat poop in places, hairball throwup, fur everywhere... yeah. ick.

YEP. Nothing like a little extra natural ammonia for the cigars!

Worst thing I've seen in a cigar store? Hmmmm...how about a box of Drew Estates Ambrosia.

ok, I kid...

I would say it was the box with 4 cigars that were almost completely eaten by beetles and they still had a price tag on them.

Last time I went on my sales calls in CT, I walked into a tobacco store in a mall. I walked into the humidor and the first thing I noticed is that it was hotter than hell in there. I'm not talking mildly hot...I wasn't sweating when I walked in, but I was when I left. When I looked at the cigars, EVERY SINGLE stick was dried out, cracked and/or literally. Wrappers were peeling off and a few of them had no wrappers at all anymore! When the guy asked me if he could help me, I told him, "No, but I can help you. Throw out these cigars, order some new ones, turn on your humidifier, cool the place down and learn how to properly store your cigars." I'm no longer welcome there....
