Im 20 now and when I first started smoking I kinda beat around the bush while talking to my rents about my hobby. When I did finally have a serious discussion with them about it they were not happy especially my mom. I told them the health risks, told them I only smoke two to three a month which was the truth, and I told them why I enjoy it. My dad wasnt to upset with it because he remembers his fathers smoking cigars. I think the key is having a serious discussion with your parents and hopefully everything works out.

Get kicked outta a 4 year university that 3 generations of your family have graduated from...

after that the smoking, wont be much of an issue... true story actually

I started when I was 18. My uncle is a big cigar smoker, so the night I graudated high school he came up to me and handed me a box of Padron 1964's. He said dont tell your mom I gave'em to you. So me and all my friends went out that night and had the time of our lives. Now almost a year later me and 3 of my good friends from high school are all hooked. We all shared smokes from that box that night, I still have 5 left from that box. We will probally get together in May and smoke the rest of them to celebrate being graduated 1 year and surviving our first year of college.

My cigar career started when I was 13. Back then I started with Tijuana Smalls. I then progressed to stealing my dads A&C Greenadairs with a green wrapper. Then me and my friends would hang out in Fenway Park in the summer and Boston Garden in the winter and smoke White Owl New Yorkers,Invincebles and Wolf Bros. Rum Soaked Crooks.

By the time I was 18 I was buying premium hand made Non Cuban cigars like Macanudos, Partagas, Royal Jamacians, Canaria D'Oro and Upmanns, back then it was only singles here and there.

I bought my first humidor in 1984 and started buying cigars by the box. I got my first JR catelogue back then and started buying Fuente 858's for around 17 bucks a box. I have been smoking cigars on a regular basis since then.

I got into Cuban cigars back in the mid 90's when my dad would mule them for me whenever he would go out of the country. I began importing my own Cubans back in 1997 and now I have a cabinet that holds 6000 cigars and it is about 3/4's full.

My grandfather and father both smoked cigars so I naturally gravitated to it. I still have both my dad's and grandfather's humidors.

I was introduced into the cigar industry when I was 1 by my uncle and father then had my first one at 17 and i'll be 22 in June.

I smoked maybe twice a year since I was 18, but they were mostly liquor store specials, and I didn't know any better. A long time friend and fellow BOTL gave me a 150 ct humi and 75 sticks for an engagement present, and my obsession then started.

well the first time i ever had any tobacco product in me was graduation night. 2 of my friends bought some huge cigars and one made me take a celebratory puff. actually wasnt bad either. then i forgot about it. was 18. then last summer (19) my cousin was smoking a strawberry swisher and i tried it and didnt think it tasted like strawberries but sorta liked it. And ever since ive progressed to real stuff now (20)....

Guess I'm a late bloomer. I started smoking cigars a year ago and I'm 52 now. Went to a B&M to buy a box as a present for a friend. Talked to the owner about all of the different brands and kinds of cigars. It was a whole world that I knew nothing about. Went back to the B&M a few days later bought a 5-pack of Bacarrats ... thought you were supose to inhale them ... duh. Anyway, I've enjoyed learning about cigars just about as much as I've enjoyed smoking them.

Same age, different smokes. First cigar was a Mac Hampton court from my dad on my 16th bday.

I was about 17 when I tried my first premium cigar. My older brother introduced me. A good man!

I was 19, college will cause you to drink and smoke ... least it did for me.

I started smoking cigars when I was about 16. Robert Burns Black Watch. a freind and I would smoke them at our usual friday night parties. then in college I switched to camel wides...smoked them for about 2 months 1 a week, threw out what was left of the carton. STarted smoking some nicaraguan bundle I bought at a drug store that had a humi, and have been smoking cigars ever since. didnt start buying the boxed ciagrs until after college...

I tried smoking some Black watch about a year ago and cant understand for the life of me what the hell I found so good about them. I do wish that there were still some of my favorite brands out there though, like the Canonero, original Don Juan Nicaraguan, original Cupido.
