If you plan on going on vacation check here http://www.habanos.com/distributors.aspx?lang=en for legit dealers, and you can always check out the Habanos website for all knod of info on those kind of cigars www.habanos.com
That's exactly my point. Jamica = Tourist destination = fakes.

Valencia Spain = not a tourist mecca = genuine sticks from a local store off the beaten path

For this reason it would probably be best if the accuser made it known that they thought the sticks might be fake. They should also provide some reasons as to why they think that. And most importantly be polite about the whole matter.

Someone that is receiving this accusation should almost take it with a grain of salt. If I received one, I would check it out, but wouldn't immediately assume the accuser was correct and throw away my stash. You could tell them why you think they are real.

It is very important that both parties act polite about the whole issue (I know, this is the internetibble.

I can remember getting ripped off in Cozumel quite a few years ago by buying some counterfeit Cohibas and felt so stupid that I refused to think that I was taken advantage of. I gave one to a friend of mine to tell him what a "great" deal I got in Cozumel and after taking a couple of drags on this cigar he starts laughing and looks at the band and really starts laughing. I was so embarrassed that I immediately educated myself so that this would never happen again. I'd say let the others know by PM because it does tend to be a little embarrassing when you realize you were just had. My 2 cents

Anyone who needs an independent verification of authenticity can send me their suspect smokes and I will gladly smoke them & advise them whether or not they were real or not. On some occasions it might take more than one example in order to properly asses and evaluate the tell tale characteristics of a genuine Cuban so I recommend a fiver be sent to ensure accurate results!

From what I have seen all your cigars look fake. Send them to me for examination, and I will officially test them myself and pm you the results.

You can thank me later.

Yup, a couple of friends of mine just got back from the Dominica and there were fakes all over the place.. Especially the OPUS..

I posted earlier that I thought I blew it by turning down the "buy", but thank God it didn't turn out that way..

Great posts!

Looks are not all. There are alot of Cubans that have a rough looking wrapper. I was gifted some Bolivar Tubo's and when I opened the first tube I thought they were fake because the wrapper was full of large veins and looked lumpy. When I checked the box seal with a black light I got the correct logo. I did a little searching on the internet and found they all looked like this. From what I have read it has to do with the Cuban emphasis of flavor as opposed to astetics. Years ago I used to get ALOT of Cuban cigars, through then legal means, and the quality got to be really bad in the mid to late 90's

It is difficult sometimes for even experts to determine fakes when viewing them in person, much less from a computer picture. I only purchase CCs from an LCDH and can tell you that many CCs are rough looking cigars, and to me they seem to have more than their share of construction problems. I just wouldn't offer an opinion from an online picture.
