Before I retired I would smoke my cigars and found my work would be done in less time because of the reduced stress of having a great smoke. I ran a 100,000 square foot plant in Kansas City and at night I would walk around the perimeter of the building just to cap the day off. On those days I didn't have a cigar I felt more stressed, got less done and if you asked the employees about that they would tell you that I was a bit more "hard ass" around them. One of them got smart and started buying me a cigar a week and then it got around and pretty soon I was getting really good smokes from the employees and they in turn got a very mellow boss,,,fair trade I say!!

I agree with this topic %125 percent (hey I'm a Film major... not a math major!).

I really do seem to get more done with a cigar in my hand. I don't get more done at the B&M though. Too many good people to talk to.

I start my next class in less than month. I just picked up my book for the class - $190.00 - what a racket.

I do not know what causes it just that it happens... It has to be a nice high quality cigar though! I do not know maybe a cigar relaxes me that much and away I go...just curious if anyone else ever tried this out? with work or school.
Hmmm, Im starting a CertIV in Business management Jan 09, and jumping on a Diploma of the same course about this time next year, so hopefully the cigar whilst studying works for me!

cigars / laptops & work is a nice mix. I take my laptop outside and work on programming music on the back porch. It puts me in a zone where i turn into a monster !!! The headphones block the outside world from penetrating my creative zone as well

I have an online class and it's nice to sit out back, listen to lectures, and enjoy a nice smoke.

My wife keeps hinting that I should get my PhD but I wonder if I shouldn't go in a different direction and start a new career. The thought of writing more papers doesn't really bother me but the thought of writing papers while having a stogie is quite appealing.

Good luck to everyone in their coursework.

It got me through another paper tonight. In fact, it took three.

I write web/catalog/emails content for a cigar retailer so smoking cigars is part of the job. I don't even know what I'd do if I didn't have an ashtray, humidor, cutter and lighter at my desk. :baffled:

I didn't smoke much in college, but I was an English major and sometimes felt creatively stifled. A cigar probably would have helped, but better late than never I guess.

Wish I could do that, but I have a PC and there is no way in hell I can smoke inside *sigh*. What do you program? Do you do it professionally? for fun? Have a preferred DAW or other software?
