I'm through with college, but if I have a cigar going while I am on my laptop, I have the patience to browse and type for hours. If I do not have a cigar, I have little to no patience at all.

Currently working towards a BA in Marketing. Taking classes at a local community college and a University (The CC saves me some cash that can be put towards cigars ) I have a few more years to go since I work 50-70 hours a week. FYI work for me is doing in-house IT for a telecomminications company, but I just finished a pre-licensing course for a Real Estate license and will hopefully be doing that full time with-in a month or two.
As far as cigars helping me study/work/research/etc I am in full agreement. From the time I leave work in the evening I light one up for the ride home and don't stop smoking them til' I go to sleep, they are great for decompressing after a long day at the office and help me get through the mountain of school work and other work I need to tackle once I get home.

I can't really speak for the school work aspect, but I sure as heck love running live sound for a loud, great Rock or Latin group outside and smoking while i work. A cigar just makes everything better.

I totally know what your saying, when i can go home for the weekend, and i hang out in my local cigar club with my laptop or a difficult engineering problem set, i notice that i work much more efficiently when i have a cigar and a nice glass of wine to accompany me.

not to mention, if i know that after i'm done with my work i have a cigar waiting for me i am often working a great deal harder in order to get to that cigar!

lastly, there is nothing like traveling to places that allow smoking indoors, i spent last summer training with a unit in okinawa and all the bars there allow smoking, i would bring some work to the bar with me, listen to the live band, have a drink, and get TONS of work done!!!

it also helps that my fiance works at the cigar club at home she's good at keeping me stocked

I do not know what causes it just that it happens... It has to be a nice high quality cigar though! I do not know maybe a cigar relaxes me that much and away I go...just curious if anyone else ever tried this out? with work or school.
When I was finishing college, I had a buddy, and once or twice a week, we would go out to the park where they had an amphitheater. We would take along a couple sticks and sit on the stage and watch the people in the park while we smoked and talked. It was the single best form of relaxation... Okay, well, second best form of relaxation that I enjoyed.

Many great ideas, thoughts, and frustrations were dealt with during those times, and, like you, I was always ready to take on things head-on.

My semester is over now, but I would usually have a cigar after I finished something. Like once I was done with a long poly sci paper I'd light up something good.
