School work and cigars...

I am in my second year of college and noticed alot of people on this site are in college as well... I have noticed that if I pack up my laptop and head to the cigar shop or out into the garage and fire up a nice long flavorful cigar I turn into a paper writing machine. I do not know what causes it just that it happens... It has to be a nice high quality cigar though! I do not know maybe a cigar relaxes me that much and away I go...just curious if anyone else ever tried this out? with work or school.

When the missus is out of town I'll smoke in my home office. I don't know if I'd say "away I go", but it definitely makes working more pleasant. I find that with a cigar in hand I don't mind working as much which, in turn, keeps me more productive.

I'm about to head to grad school, so we'll see if it works on school work for me too.

I'm actually using grad school (MBA to be precise) to facilitate a career change. Tired of what I've been doing for the past seven years.

Where are you going to school? What's your major, if you don't mind me asking...

Just in Juniour College for now hoping to transfer to University of North Florida back home in Jacksonville for the next two years...To start I am going to be a high school math teacher...hopefully I will find something math related for my masters so I can adjunct at a college during summer break... I doubt I will go to the level required to become a tenured professor I do not like being in school that much lol My wife is a nurse so I have the luxury of doing what I want and not worring about a profession that pays horrible. Its what I wanna do and she supports it.

That's great your wife supports you in what you want to do. It took me some searching, but I've got one (well, not quite a wife yet but darn close) that is that way. She's 100% behind me as I quit work for two years and go back to school.

I always feel a twinge of jealousy when I stop into the local B&M. Paid to smoke....hmmmm.. Maybe I'm headed for the wrong line of work after all. I ought to be opening cigar shops.

I really wish my wife could have dealt with her job for another year, I could have gotten my masters squared away for free. But if she is happier now, I guess its good for me.

My wife is getting ready to start on her masters and then I will start on mine, only after a long time from my BS. But I hope that smoking cigars will help. I smoked when I was in college but it was after my work was done. Lap tops were very rare then.

I usually fail at concentrating when smoking... I need to work on that because whenever I go out to smoke I have my lappy or a book with me.

Next time I have a paper I'll light one up and do a scientific test lol

I teach, and I do a lot of my grading and whatnot while smoking. And the kids wonder why their papers smell when they get them back.
