Sol Cubano - Your experiences?

I just picked up a few of each of the whole line and have smoked the Sumatra and the Maduro so far what experiences have everyone else had. They seem to be pretty good sticks for the price. Maybe a little single dimentional but tastie none the less.

I like the maduro line, but haven't had the others. Its pretty cheap, and yes, its not all that deep, but they are a good solid smoke.

The Sol Cubano Cuban Cabinet is my everyday smoke. The No. 4 to be specific. Great cigar with lots of flavor and complexity.

The three original lines, Maduro, Sumatra and Connecticut arenice also but geared more toward value. They are strait forward blends without a lot of changes throughout. Great if you are looking for a consistent everyday smoke.

Smoking a Cuban Cabinet torp now. Reminiscent of a slightly milder Pepin Black , I could see why it's one of your go to smokes Alex. So far this brand seems to be a very good value smoke. especially at c-bid auction prices.

Thanks Alex.

I really enjoyed the Cuban Cabinets that I got. I have the "A" and Fundadores. Really getting better the more they rest. Have one left of each size that I plan on resting a couple more months.

Hummm.... I'll have to try and get my hands on a few of them and give them a try. Do they make a corojo?

The Cuban cabinet line is a habano seed grown in Ecuador. The difference between habano, criollo and corojo is fairly small. The big difference is that it is a cuban seed grown in Ecuador. Mainly just sumatra and connecticut are grown in ecuador. Only one grower grows the Habano there and it is amazing. Same stuff you see on a lot of pepin cigars as well as Oliva.

I got samplers of this line,,maduro,,and I thought it was just another regular smoke but I was surprised and actually enjoyed them. So far, they have only been in the humi for about 2 months and I smoked the first 3 within a few weeks after I got them. If they age well this could really be a surprise smoke for me. That is what I need, another surprise smoke that tastes great so I can buy a box of them.

I decided to buy the sol cubano (cabinet) and have never looked back. A very nice smoke, indeed!

Yeah, I think you've got it right: "single dimentional but tastie none the less." Nothing wrong with them. I've had several of the Sumatras, but none of the others. I like the flavor profile, as well as the price.

I love the Cuban Cabinets, the ones I got most recently from CBid needed a week or so in the humidor but are great now and I totally agree with the Pepin reference!
