Ashton ESG opnion

Just picked one of these bad boys up while I was up at Cape Cod the past weekend. Anyone got any opinion on it? think i'm gonna let it sit unless you got any reason why I should smoke it now?

I agree, no reason to put it away. They're good to go right away, just make sure you have some time to enjoy it!!

Very spicy and usually produce a bit of tar/oil on the smoking end. The robusto is easy, it's the churchill that I have wrangled with from time-to-time. Expensive. Good construction and even burn. I've never had a plugged one or experienced any canoe trips. Smoke the one you have. If you find it's too young, I'll send you a back up you can put down for awhile.

An excellent smoke, I've only smoked the 20 year Churchill, but have a few of the 21 year robustos that I've got in the humi. Very nice construction with a great burn. Has anyone heard anything more on 22 year torpedo that is to be released this year?

Are they continuing to release the 20 year? If it's at the B&M, is it a couple years old? I doubt it, but if it is, I may have to pick one up.

I think the VSG is better and cheaper so I don't buy the ESG anymore. I do have the Robusto because I havent tired it. I have heard its better then the Churchill but needs to be a lot better to beat a VSG.

Every year they are coming out with a new size. But they are not just making one size per year. So yes the 20 year is still be made along with the 21 year. And next year there will be 3 sizes.

I still can't find the things around here.. I will keep looking though. I am interested to know though, why is it that some premiums take quite a bit of aging before being 'optimal' and others are good from the beginning.

I agree Frank. The ESG is very good, but for about half the price you can get a VSG.
