Do you plan ahead or go random?

Often times, I find myself sitting at work jonesing for a certain smoke at night and can't get it out of my head. Then, when I get home, I know exactly what I want to smoke.

Do you plan your smoke or just open the humi and grab whatever catches your eye??

90% of the time it is random...open it up and whatever jumps out... occasionally though i know i want something very specific! but most the time i like it random...

Most of the time, I plan it ahead the night before. Sort of the random picking the night prior.

If I don't think about ahead of time, it's a pain in the tail. I'll open the humidor and 5 or 6 thinks will jump out at me. Then I remember the one I've been wanting to try for awhile. Then, as I'm reaching for it, I uncover something I haven't had before or something that caught my eye in a review and I opt for that one. Then, before pulling it out, I think...maybe I won't have quite enough time to give this smoke the time it deserves to fully appreciate it so I change my mind, again, and go for a regular that will be good but won't crush me if I run out of time.
After all this time standing in front of my humidor, I've probably allowed the RH to drop 5% and frustrated myself fully. I need to start planning for the whole week and stocking the desk humidor, but imagine how long that would take me!

I'm pretty random, unless I have my heart set on one particular smoke.. And usually I don't have that smoke in my humidor, so I stop at my local shop and pick it up.

I think about it that day but half the time I change my mind when I open the Humi

I usually have something in mind but then i open up the humi to get it i see something else and thats what i go with...Flip flopper...

I've done the same thing, but most times I never know the target stick until I get in the humi and start looking around. Unfortunately, I also can waste a fair amount of smoke time deciding which one gets the call!

I try to plan ahead but I don't make it hard and fast. Sometimes I don't have the time to follow plan and sometimes I'm drinking a beverage that woudn't go particularly well with what I planned on. I do better with planning on the weekends. More time and beverage options.

I used to be totally random until Rocky Patel cigars took over my life and palate. Last night I actually broke from my usual RP and started on a Carlos Torano and rushed thru it because I was thinking I should have taken the Old World RP instead. Totally ruined the smoke because my head was somewhere else. Damn you Rocky Patel!!

If I am smoking one at home it is one I have thought about and selected in advance. However, if I am going to one of the local shops for a herf, then it is completely random.

then i get hopelssly confused and tell my wife just to pick on for me

Almost always random. With the exception of very special occasions/sticks. More often than not the decision has to do with time I have or what I am doing.
