TV or no TV when you're smoking?

Depends on what is on TV. Something that I am really interested in I will smoke one while watching. But like some others have said here, there are times when just sitting relaxing and enjoying the cigar is a good thing.


I save my best ones for the ranch when I can really be away from everything. No sounds of traffic, no people driving by with music way to loud. No phones ringing. Which with a 15 year old son the phone rings a lot here at the house . I got a good view of nature and can really have a good one that way. Gets a bit hot in Texas in the summer, but hey you get used to it.

I would LOVE having a TV when I smoke. Best case for me is to use a portable DVD Player with built in screen. Sometimes when I smoke I think TOO much. This is not always a good thing! I think I've redesigned my smokeing house <in my minds eye> over 20 times now...

With company I prefer the noise off! By myself, I love to watch sports, The Sopranos or a good movie while puffing away.

When I smpked cigs (quit date 04/04/05) I used to play solitaire on a little hand held game... I didn't want to 'open' that memory so I got a new game.

[SIZE="5"]Sudoku!!![/SIZE] If I up the difficulty it can take over an hour. Easy games I get done in 12-15 min. SO, depending on the cigar, I step out side and have at it... Relaxes the mind and sprit (as long as I can do the sudoku puzel). Plus it makes me 'feel' smart!!!

Wait a minute, some of you all smoke in doors!?!?!? Whats next, an analog hygromitor comes calibrated or a digital one that I can afford!!

I used to love to sit at my local B&M and smoke while I watched a baseball game on TV, but we're into our second year of a ridiculous smoking ban here so that is no longer an option. If I want electronic entertainment now I'm limited to either the radio or my ipod.

I would love to smoke with the TV on ~ to watch concerts or sports or some kind of documentary or to listen to music ~ unfortunately I can't smoke indoors and I'm woried that my system would smell. I just read on the patio.

Nah, I smoke outside. The nearest I'll get to electric entertainment is an iPod.

I don't think I appreciate a good cigar as much when I am watching a movie or even reading. Normally I smoke with a couple of friends outdoors, just walking around and talking (often about the cigars).

Same here. Usually, I bring a short something to read (magazine, etc.). So after about 20-30 mins... it is just me and the smoke. Oh yeah, glass of water. Clears the pallete and allows me to taste the differences in the cigar from start to finish. Man... I need the cold & rain to leave!!!

I have watched TV while smoking, usually a movie ive seen before so I don't have to pay attn to it.
I prefer to read a book while I'm smoking though. Ive been reading a book and realized that im paying so much attn to the cigar that I've only made it through two pages in 45 min before.
