Cusano LXI Habano Sun Grown Toro Gordo

I stopped in by my local Smoker Friendly to see what they had and they had 3 different sizes of the Cusano LXI Habano Sun Grown, so I picked up a couple Toro Gordo around 6.00 each. Smoked one last night and it was very nice, a very robust and full flavor smoke, but not kick your ass full. Very nice construction, consistent all the way through, and smoked the same. Anyone else give these a try? I plan to smoke the other tonight.

Cusano 59 and LXI

For years I have been smoking Cusanos as one of my milder morning or mid day smokes. Both the 59 and the LXI are good smokes. Always good construction (a Cusano trademark) and these newer lines are tasty. The 59 is milder and the LXI has a nice addition of spice to kick it up a notch. Price points on Cusanos have always been good and these two new cigars are no exception. If you haven't tried any yet then it is a brand worth finding. For those who want a cigar to "knock your socks off" in strength these will not do it. The Cuvee Rouge and the 151 are stronger but pricer and there are stronger more flavorful stronger sticks out there such as the Pepin Garcia, 601,and Cubao sticks.

I find it hard to believe Cusano actually has a good smoke.. I know one should not say anything if they have nothing nice to say but I have yet to find a Cusano that didn't make me regret smoking.

Really? I find that surprising, I have only had good experiences and haveonly heard of good experiences. WHich ones have you tried? Have you had the Cuvees (151, Blanc, Rouge)? They are his "top of the line" series.

The Cuvee was about the worst, it was like smoking wet wool. I tried a couple of them, and have sworn off buyingCusano cigars, I got a couple in a bomb and I will smoke them since they were gifted.

I know Joe personally...but I thought the same about his cigars...and yes, there are a few baddies, but they have persevered and have come out with some knock-outs...the 59 cameroon is better than the lxi (not so good in my opinion) and also the 151 was great, as was the rouge.

Good luck when you smoke them...try to put the bias behind you!
