AVO, Zino, Griffin and all other Davidoff?????
Hello everyone,
I was gifted with a Griffin by Charles via a bomb a couple of weeks ago, and absolutely loved it! So, as I'm getting into the non-flavored side of the cigar world, I'm doing more research, which only leads to more questions...it's a vicious cycle! I'm curious about the Davidoff cigars, can anyone tell me if they all have the same underlying flavors like the Toranos do, as well as the CAOs? Do all cigar manufacturers try to keep the same underlying flavors throughout their cigar lines? In other words, if one likes the Griffin so well, would one like the Zino Platnum, the AVO lines, and Davidoff's namesake line as well? Any opinions or insights would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Suzanne

IMHO if you like griffin you will like the Zino plat and classic, The Davidoff white label...not the millenium. The millenium is actually the only one I like but taste diffrent than the others I think. And AVO to me is totally different with the exception of the 787 and LE08 they have that same taste you are talking about. Like i said though just my 2cents. |

Although there are exceptions as stated above, the thing with Davidoff is the common flavor profile between each of the cigars in their line. Across brands the difference is a little more pronounced often leaving just enough there to identify that it comes from a Davidoff lineage. One major difference that I will point out is that the Zino Classic flavor profile is totally different from any of the other Davidoff made products.
I like most of all the Davidoff Millennium, Avo 787, Avo Signature and the Winston Churchill. The Davidoff Ventage 2000 which came out in 2003 is no longer made is also one of my favorites. If anyone knows where I can get some please let me know. Same thing with the Cusano Cuvee Grand Lancero. |

All of those cigars are blended by Henke Kilner. My fav is the Millenium, followed by the lastest 787. I have never had a bad experience with any of them. The dominant flavor i always get out of them is " Toasty"

IMHO, the Torano line has a few different flavor profiles. The 1916, Casa Torano, Exodus, Virtuoso, Noventa and Signature deliver creamy, toasty, woody and spicy (maybe not like a pepin). I like the 1916 for an a.m. smoke and the Signature/Virtuoso for an after dinner heavier smoke. Can't speak to AVO and Davidoff, but I am a big fan of the Zino Classic Brazilian. Tasty and affordable.
