Guys like me (who refuse to give away their goods) get bashed all the time because there's always someone who sells it for less. And for a lot of cigar lovers, price is the ONLY factor when buying. When I posted my offer for Harvey in that thread, another guy immediately asked me if I would match a price for him, too. I said no. Do I have to tell you why I said no? OK, just in case you're not in the mood to play guessing games......... it's because he has never spent a dime with me. Has Harvey spent thousands of dollars with me? No. But he has ordered from me a few times and I appreciate it.

Build a relationship with a reputable retailer (on or off line) and it will be well worth your time.

Anyway, my wife just yelled that the new season of The Shield just started so I gotta run!!

Building a relationship is always good If you're a serious cigar smoker and you got friends at B&Ms and online stores, you can only expect your experiance to get better not worse.

having read that entire thread I have to commend both Harvey and Mike for thier actions in it, Harvey was doing the right thing by biting the bullet and Mike for showing what a reputable dealer is all about.

That's phenomenal. I've looked over Mike's page a few times, and know of quite a few items that I can't wait to buy. Sadly, I haven't really been able to buy any new sticks in a while, so it is having to sit on the back burner for now.

My biggest regret, is that I didn't find anything about his shop when I was in Knoxville and hunting for a B&M ) =

On top of Mike being about as "stand-up" a BOTL can be, he is also very, very good at his business. Any retailer just getting into the cigar retail business (or any business for that matter) could use to take a lesson from him. He's top notch and takes care of his customers. You can't buy advertising more valuable than being true to your customers. Harvey (and many other BOTL's here on CL and all over) are proof of that.

What Mike said is 100% right! There are a lot of people that only look for the best prices on the web. I like to spend most of my money with local B&Ms even if it doesn't go as far! Why? Not just to build a relationship (which I do have) but because if not for them I would have no where nice to smoke and enjoy the company of other smokers.

I have bought from Mike before because he is a great BOTL and has some good deals, and will buy from him again one day.

I agree with all comments above. Mike is a Top Notch BOTL!! He sure knows how to look after his customers. I will do ALL my cigar buying from Mike. There are sites out there that offer extremely low prices, but ill go with Mike any day over them. There arent really in B&Ms in the UK for non ISOMs, so I consider Leaf and Ale my 'local' B&M His service is outstanding and he is a true BOTL. I just placed an order with him today
