I have a 200 ct. that I use for aging smokes only since I started my coolerdor. I only check it once every 2 weeks (unless I want something special) and this helps me keep my mitt's off them for long periods of time. Very good idea.

im thinking of doing this. it would be so tempting if the humi was where my others were. i would have to hide it somewhere

I keep the sticks that I'm aging in my wine chiller unit and only go into it a couple times a month. My regular smokes are in humidors and cooler type containers. It works well and, using 65% beads in the chiller, I hardly have to do anything to maintain it.

I can't find anything in my Humi anyway.Every now & then I'll rummage thru it & discover a forgotten treasure.I have sticks stuck in box's in the bottom that I really have no idea how long they have been there.I recently started putting the date on the bottom of new box's I pick up.I usually pick up a handfull of sticks every Friday at my local when I stop by there to smoke that weekend.Whatever is left goes into the Humi.I honestly have no idea of the total of what cigar I have in there.Makes it kinda exciting sometime when I don't know what I want to smoke.Kinda like a treasure hunt, just start digging & see what I can come up with.

I have the regulars' cabinet, aging humi and a small transition humi (put new ones there for a tad to prevent any issues that might affect all the others).

I think at the rate I am going with the testerdor (300 count) it will end up aging more smokes than anything else.
I probably should set aside some space in the cabinet, but the damn thing is full already! |

When the new 100ct gets her I want to turn my 15ct or my vision box into an aging box of sorts. I'll put all the smokes that I'm saving for a special time in one. That way I don't have to mess with them, and risk damaging them.

I age some cigars. The hardest part for me is keeping my sticky mitts off of them.
A separate humidor might help with that. Real aging requires serious time - years. Give it a try. I doubt that you will be disappointed. btw- a 150 count is a good way to get into the aging game. Try starting with some full bodied cigars with rich flavors. As a general guideline that is a good way to start. Also, try to avoid letting oily cigars touch the others.

use a humi that locks. put the key somewhere it is a pain to get. you will stay out of your aging box.

I have an old box/humi from the H. Upmann 160th Anniversary that has three trays in it and I use that for the ageing/Don't touch smokes. Works great and with the tray system it is less convenient to have to take out multiple trays to get to a smoke. I enjoy using this system, only issue I am running into is space...starting to run out.
