I ship almost everything USPS unless the buyer requests UPS (they have that option at checkout on my website). UPS is always more expensive, and usually takes 5-7 days ground to the west coast. Same with Fedex. It takes exactly one week to get a package from Tatuaje in LA to my place in TN. So I try not to use either. If a person on the other side of the country orders a box of cigars, I ship USPS FREE and they have it in 3 days or less. If someone in another country (matt257) orders, I ship it USPS Express Mail for just $34 bucks and he has it in Great Britain in 3 or 4 days (and I pick up $5.00 toward the shipping cost for him). To ship the same package via UPS was just about $90 bucks and 6-10 days. That's a no-brainer in my book.

I might be a little protective of my employer, but that's not true. With your zip code of 37912 (generic Knoxville) its 5 days to the west coast via ground service. door to door guaranteed. Which is something the Post Office can't say. 2nd. I ship cigars all the time through UPS and it has never cost $90 to ship a box of cigars to the west coast.

We can have it there in 3 days, 2 days or the next day. We have every service for whatever cost you want to pay.

If you don't like UPS I'm fine with that, but lets represent the facts correctly.

To have it in 3 - 4 days I think its worth the extra $10 (priority international is $24 and takes about 2 weeks) I always appreciate Mike picking some of the cost up for me That UPS price is insane!! Standard postage to the UK is about $9 - $13 and takes between 6 - 10days. I never seem to understand why priority generally takes longer than standard :errrr:
Sorry if I thread jacked

I think the $90 was in regards to my orders with Mike, which are shipped to the UK. But I could be wrong

Normally I get UPS very quickly, before the estimated delivery date.

However, I have a package right now sitting in Mesquite that has been there since last week and they are estimating to deliver it on the twelfth. Every once in a while they get really bottle necked for some reason. I am fairly confident I will get it before Friday but my point is that sometimes they really get hung up.

Gotta say that I have no problems with UPS, though I do think USPS is faster for small packages.

USPS is the only way to go. I think we are pretty accurate and speedy the only time it gets really crazy is in December. Plus we deliver everywhere and if your package doesn't fit in your mailbox we knock or ring at the door. Plus if you get a slip you can always pick it up close by at the station not one facility within 50-100 miles ala UPS.

I have sent stuff UPS and had no problems... However, they are more expensive! I ship everything USPS now for the most part. Really nothing UPS did other than their prices are higher. and it does seem the packages get to the person really fast with USPS.

Make sure they put my address on the shipping label and I promise they will not get lost. I could even test a few out just to make sure they are not dried up. If they are, I will make sure they sit in a good humi for whenever you come by to pick them up.

I'm wondering when a package gets "lost" what happens when its "found." Do people get honest and ship it to the owner of the package or do they throw it away/open it up and free for all it? It seems like things with value get lost. It's never grandmas stuffed animal that you got for your birthday. Maybe its just that you hear about the valueable things that get lost but it still makes you wonder, do people just jack your stuff?
