it was a bit sketchy the first half, but you should feel comfortable lighting up the victory smoke now with just minutes to go in the 4th left.
i gotta say it feels weird not having a game today. |

Well, boys another victory for the boys in Orange and Blue. The Gator's defeated the Miami Hurricanes 26-3. While it was a lackluster start for the Gators, they revived, built steam and put it in fourth gear in the 4th quarter. First Gator win against the Canes in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium since 1985!! Victory smoke will be completed tomorrow so stay tuned!

congrats gator guys!
this was a good fought win. tebow is a helluva player, but you guys gotta let UM know he's got to recruit a running back. Tebow cant be QB and RB every game (proved that last year vs LSU). |

Here's to the Gators over Miami
Game #2 is complete and another victory for the Gators as they downgrade the Miami Hurricanes to a Tropical Depression in The Swamp. The score was 26-3 (Pic 1), but let's let the victory cigar tell the story.
For the Warm Up....the cigar (gifted by Charles...thanks Charles) was a Perdomo La Tradition Cabinet Series. A good looking cigar with a traditional looking band(Pic 2). This cigar has sat at 67% for about 2.5 weeks in my humidor and was let out to breathe for about two hours before smoking. The environment - Smoked whiling watching a Youth Soccer Tournament from the backyard with my dog Murphy. The Pairing - O'Malley's Cream Ale. Construction - the cigar (like the Canes) had some soft spots along the body. Not spongy, but not a consistent firmness along the line of the cigar. The head (Pic 6) had a very short cap, so it required a very shallow, delicate cut to keep the shoulders of the cap intact. After the cut the draw was a little tight but I didn't feel like I could cut any further and maintain the cap so I went with what I had. This matches a couple of reviews I've seen on these cigars. The First Quarter (Pic 3). The first quarter was rather lackluster (like the Gators 1st, 2nd and part of the 3rd quarters) and did reveal alot of spice or flavors. The volume of smoke was very full, which I attribute to the rather tight draw. Identifiable flavors were hay and some grass. There was a flag on a play for illegal formation as a bit of wrapper busted and started to peel. I babied the stick but kept smoking to prevent any further damage. Why this happened....I don't know. The 3rd Quarter (Pic 4) the cigar burned through the busted wrapper with no problems. About half way through (Cigar Half Time) the draw finally opened up and was very comfortable for the rest of the smoke. The flavors developed a little with a little wood, but were not easily recognizable and required concentration to detect. The ash held supremely for about 2.25 inches before dropping off into my lap requiring me to do a little touchdown celebration jig. The End of the Game (Pic 5). I took this cigar down to the nub even though it had become slightly harsh and bitter sharp on the finish. The flavors remained faint but constant through to the end. This wasn't a bad cigar, but not one that I would say is worthy of an enjoyable smoke. A fair use for this stick would be a day on the golf course or while doing something where you're not focusing on the cigar experience. Next week the Gators will meet the Tennessee Volunteers and I will celebrate yet another victory with an Arganese Family Premier. Go Gators!!! |
