I'm not gonna say that there are no good teams in the SEC however Penn State is being way overlooked this year. Just wait till the end of the season and we'll see what happens.

if we look at recent history, we have pretty good proof of what happens when a matchup occurs between the top team in the Big ten-eleven and the SEC.

Just saying, no offense to Penn St. and Joe Pa, he has done great things for that school and the sport. i think they need to add a conference championship so that anyone who hopes to play for the BCS crystal has played the same number of games. same risk same reward for everyone.

True, but they really need to add two more teams to their conference before they can have a conference championship game, I am guessing that is an NCAA rule?

Also in the past few years Penn St. has kinda sucked, so what is the reason that they are all of a sudden so good this year? Did they add that many more great players, did Joe Pa change the way he coached? A more likely answer is that the Big 10 just isn't as good as it was in previous years. Don't get me wrong with an unbeaten record they are most certainly deserving, but the question remains how deserving does everyone else think they are?

Well, I'm way behind and out of order, but here's the next round of Victory Smokes. This Toranos goes to Kentucky. If games like this one keep happening, I may switch to smoking a cigar for every point the opponent scores.

To clarify, I haven't properly celebrated the LSU game. <ahem> I think they are both at work in the deskidor! Time to get caught up!

Deserving more than Texas Tech. They did beat a No. 1 but it wasn't because they played great. They did have an amazing play to end the game but there were two golden opportunities for Texas to intercept a pass and end the game. And that last play only happened because a fresh/soph DB completely missed a tackle. So if Texas plays them again Texas would win and I don't really give a flyin f what conference any ones in. I know the Big Ten isn't great this year but neither is the Pac Ten but USC seems to be regarded pretty high.

If Penn State plays Alabama it's PSU versus AU, not Big Ten versus SEC. If you look at it like that then yea PSU should probably be jumped by a few teams in the rankings but no you gotta look at the team not the conference there in. I know you can make some exceptions but still PSU was and sorta still is way underrated. But then you've got a preseason No.1 that's a joke, the only reason they ranked where they are is because they came in at No. 1, they had a lot of room to fall back.

I agree that USC is overated as is Alabama (slightly) and Texas Tech. I also agree that PSU should be where they are, as they are undefeated in a decent conference, but my logic still proves true that the conference does matter. I mean should Ball State, Boise State, or Utah be ranked higher than Texas, Oklahoma or Florida or ranked as an equal to PSU just because they are undefeated. The answer is HELL no and why is that, because they play in inferior conferences with inferior teams. Seriously, think about it, is the WAC or the MWC as good as the Big Ten? I mean Utah is 9 and 0 just like PSU and yet they are ranked five spots behind them, and you and I both know there is a valid reason for it. Either way the Big Ten needs to be the Mid-Western version of the Big 12 and have a conference Championship.

Well I get what you're saying because I remember when Virginia Tech played Florida State in like 99(?) but Va Tech was only undefeated because they played in an easy conference. But with conferences like the Mountain West can't even start to compare to the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, or even the ACC. But I think the Big Ten is at least good enough to have a team like Penn State compare to an Alabama or Texas Tech. Or maybe PSU should just go independent like they were, ND is and they're overrated every year lol. But I'm not gonna get into them I don't wanna start a bunch of controversy.
