Drinks paired with cigars, alcoholic and non.

Not sure if this has been done before? Anyway, who doesn't love smoking cigars? If you don't, I suggest you do some serious soul searching . Anyway, along with smoking cigars, I love drinking something with it. Whether it's some whiskey to sip on or soda to drink, I just love the pairing, especially when both taste amazing! So my question to YOU is what drinks do you like to drink when smoking?

Alcoholic: Jim Beam
Non-Alcoholic: Dr. Pepper or Diet Mountain Dew

I really want to try some cognac with a cigar, or possibly even some beers, so if any of you have suggestions, post them!

I like ice water, but Mountian Dew is interesting I'll try that. Sprite is alright with cigars too.

I'm interested in trying different coffees with cigars. I'd be interested to see which coffee would go well with a PAM64 and a 5 Vegas Series 'A'.

that is a good idea, the problem is i usually like to enjoy coffee in the morning and i dont normally smoke in the morning. i guess i'll have to start brewing some joe in the afternoon. i bet a nice iced coffee would be nice (i've seen jitzy do it a few times in his posts).

I really only drink black coffee with a little cream/sugar in it, so I'm not so sure it'd taste very good iced =/. I have to get my coffee maker set up when I get back to my apt. actually...

well, i gotta say i thought i wouldn't like iced coffee, but growing up on the gulf coast and living in these hot humid summers, the last thing you want in the middle of a summer afternoon is a hot cup of joe. i tried some iced coffee and it was really good. i especially like a double shot iced latte.

I am a big single malt fan so one of my favorite alcoholic drinks with a cigar is Lagavulin, but for on alcoholic it is usually water. I seem to remember someone who swore to me their favorite thing to drink with a cigar was orange soda. I have yet to try it, not sure I am willing to chance that one.

I am a coffee drinker. I love a nice cup of press pot coffee with a cigar in the morning. I will also drink coffee in the evening if I'm not worried about the caffeine jolt keeping me up. The only soda I have found that pairs up with a cigar and my taste buds was non diet regular coke. I'm not a fan of fruity soda with cigars. I think the flavors clash bigtime.

For booze I love sipping on some neat rum. My favorite bottle so far was Pyrat. I also go with darker beers. I do find a good merlot or other red to goes well with a cigar. The wine needs substantial body so it can stand up to the cigar. For a cocktail I am a huge fan of the black russian. For those of you unfamiliar with the drink it's a white russian minus the cream. One of the variations I tried with it was to substitute the cream with chocolate cream liquor and it was pretty good. I still prefer only kahlua and vodka though.

I enjoy the darker beers also and if I have one in the morning it has to be with Hot Coffee....it's hot out here but I still don't get the cold coffee thing.
