Plastic wrappers, leave em on or not?
Do you remove the plastic wrapper to put your Cigars in your Humidor, do you leave em on or do you just put them the way you get them?

I put them the way I get them... Most of what i seem to like comes un-cello. That said I am pretty sure the cello is made to breath so you can leave them in it...it will help protect them.

However they come from the B&M or devil site is how they stay. With the exception of my 2007 Liberty, I don't have room for the coffin until the 100ct is ready to go.

Exactly, cellophane is pourous, humidity will enter. I have at one time cut the cello so that half of the cigar is naked and the top covered but I don't think it does too much, so I leave them as they come now on.

I keep them in the celo. They tend to bounce around in my tupperdor so the extra protection is welcome.

When I started heavy in this hobby a couple years ago, I took the plastic off because I liked the way it looked in the humidor. I've since learned that the celo really provides some good protection.
Therefore, I leave the celo on. |

oflmao: I'm totaly kidding I just wanted to act like jackasses from other boards, I like to leave it on cause they stay protected better but I know it does slow the ageing proccess but I would rather keep them safe.

One of my customers has an extremely aged Humidor that at one time had a humidifier double sided taped to the top. He wanted me to remove the goop from the lid where it was stuck. He believed in removing all his wrappers and his idea was that it aged them better. Problem was that when he removed the Cigars which had been sitting in there for years, the bottom of the Humidor became sticky. It pretty much ruined the Cigars at the bottom. He still tried to make his case by insisting that the stickiness was from something else. I will say, this thing smelled incredible! In his defence, I do think he had them stacked way too deep. He should have had a tray made. This may have led to the bottom becomming sticky. It was almost like a hardened resin. I don't believe anything was ever put on the Cedar. I can see how no wrappers would season A Humidor nicely but at the expense of good cigars? I'll try to get him to read this.
Thanks for helping me make my case.:errrr: |

A lot of folks still think cello is made out of plastic and doesn't breath. Not the case... It's made from plants and breaths really well, not to mention is 100% biodegradable...
Personally if it comes with them on, I leave them on... But I do keep the cello'd ones apart from the non-cello'd... |

Cello will allow moisture to get to the stick, HOWEVER it does slow the aging process. While it does allow moisture, it doesn't let the cigar really breath. If im putting smokes in my humi for short term consumption (ie within a month or two) I just leave them as is. BUT if I am putting them in the area I have sectioned off strictly for aging, I cut both ends of the cello so it will breath a little better, but still have some protection from being bumped around.
Now, I could be way off in my theories (keep in mind they are just my own personal theories) but thats my $0.02
