This ever happen to you?

I have had a cold for a few days now and it has changed the way that everything tastes. I lit up a realy nice smoke tonight, a Gurkha Havana Selection Robusto and it just didn't taste good at all. Every other stogie that I have had from the box has been pure joy in my mouth from start to finish and now I feel that I have wasted a perfectly good cigar because I didn't finish it due to the taste. Has anyone else ever had this problem or do you think that I just got a bum cigar in the batch. It still burned good with the same draw but smelled a little different but I am assuming that it is because I have a cold. Has this ever happened to you?

Ughhh!

Yup. If you can't resist its probably best to stick with an old reliable that's cheap but enjoyable. Then its no big loss if you don't finish, or even if you do but it doesn't meet your expectations.

Re: This ever happen to you?

Yeah. It affects me because usually my nose is all clogged up- thus I cannot smell- which directly relates to taste....:s

With a cold usually comes a loss of the sense of taste...nothing is gonna taste right, not food, not cigars...lay off them for a few days until your sense of taste returns...

If you must smoke with a cold it's a good time to use up the dog rockets ... everything tastes the same.

I gotta agree with Norman on this one....if the cold isn't too bad, I'll smoke a cheaper NC just to make me feel normal for an hour.

Re: This ever happen to you?

Stig - I imagine that has happened to more of us then we want to say. I agree with RPB67 when I feel under the weather I dont smoke for a few days.

It certainly has an effect on yout taste buds and that stick you so enjoyed last week wont be what you want from it today.

I'm with Richard here, I have bad sinus's and get frequent infections and I tend to stay away from cigars, especially good ones. If I do smoke its junk I bought a long time ago that I don't care for anymore.

Re: This ever happen to you?

I would agree with the above... And ADD that when you're amidst stressful times or situations, it's not time to light up that favorite!

Cigars don't solve problems... They do, however, celebrate solutions!
