I am not doing this for the cigars in fact I don't want any... I saw the other post and until then did not know about this thread... I will say I will always have a special place in my heart for the Indios. They were one of my first "regular" cigars and they have a taste that is unlike any other and as a matter of fact... being honest here... I looked thru my humi the other day to try and find one cause I had a taste for it. I am going to the cigar shop this weekend to pick me up some.

I have smoked my share of Reyes Family Cigars, and of the bunch, the Cuba Aliados Anniversary is my favorite. Of the new lines, I like the Premier and the Vintage. I think my taste though seems to be a bit more eclectic than your average cigar smoker. I can smoke a pretty mild cigar one day (CAO Gold) and the next day one of the pepper bombs from DPG and enjoy them both equally. I guess I just like a lot of variety in my humi.

Dang, if I'd only known I would have included some in the package I sent. I just had a Bronco last night - and I enjoyed every minute of it!!!!

I am a big fan of puros indios cigars. I have smoked more 2003 reserva maximas than probably any other cigar.

I have not had the opportunity to try the new Reyes Family Cigar line.

I like the cuba aliados line as well. Very well constructed smokes

Reyes family especially Frank is very generous

First I would like to say that the Reyes family especially Frank is very generous, Frank sent me samples and shirts for everyone that posted on CL, i sent out appox 20 shirts and cigars .frank gave me a full box of his new premiers that was for me but i sent them out with the shirts so everyone could try them before they were even out, you tell me a company that would ever do something like that to promote a new cigar.

I smoked around 15 Premiers and have like 5 left and 5 Classics there great smokes and i think the premiers are creamy and full flavor in my opinion and the classic is creamy and mild. also it makes a big difference were you buy them because i emailed frank and he told me a place in Miami and let me tell you they were perfect out of the box alot of internet mail order cigars you have to let them sit for a while

I tried a Puros indios years ago, and have not tried anything since. Maybe they just have not been on my radar screen. I don't remember the indio being any special. I don't recall any advertising from your company. Maybe some a sampler line would be good.
What I look for is an aged cigar - full bodied - smoth, and well constructed.

That is pretty awesome. I am so anxious to try the new ones. I missed a deal on CI for some of the premiers. but I left my computer and they were gone. I was pissed about that.

I am waiting for some B&M to get some by me.

Thank you for your input.
I have questions and comments regarding this thread.

First of all, what is your sample size when you determine if you like a brand or not? Is it one cigar, 2, 3, etc??
We obviously always want to make a good first impression, but you should never judge an entire brand or manufacturer by one cigar or one cigar from one particular brand extension.

Now, I fully understand why most of our brands are not your cup of tea. If you are strictly a 'full-bodied' cigar smoker, we definitely do not have that taste profile in our portfolio. The strongest cigar in our portfolio is the Cuba Aliados double fuerte. I would love for you guys to try that and see if it tickles your fancy. Indeed, most of our cigars are on the mild to medium range, and have great balance and flavor. We are big on flavor but we simply don't blend for power. Since taste is subjective, I never try to convince someone that my cigars taste good. You are the best judge of what you like, no one else's review or rating should tell you that. Construction on the other hand, is objective and if we are faulty in that category, we must take the proper steps to correct it.

My 2nd question is - what mild-medium cigar is part of your rotation?
1. at least 5 cigars until I make a definite decision (unless its so bad I want to puke)

2. dont really have a medium in my lineup...I would love to see a medium that smells like horsecrap (barnyard smell on prelight) and is loaded with pepper...

I have admit in the 80s Puros indios was a great smoke i am not sure if the blend is different now or wrappers but its a totally different cigar, I would drive to his little store in Bergenline from my house it was like 40 min and his Aliados were the best they seem to be different now also

But this is a new error and new smokes i really enjoy the premiers and the classics

Frank, I don't know if it was you or someone else, but someone gifted me the new black and blue label Reyes Family "premier?" and I have to say it was the 2nd worst cigar I have ever had...mild flavor profile (not my taste), spongy construction, inconsistent burn (angling following by tunneling)...I LOVE the free shirt that came with it, but I wouldn't even recommend the cigar to my fellow mild cigar smokers

I questioned the person who gifted it to me and told him my concerns and he said, no hard feelings, as that was the same response he was getting from all the people he sent them out to...

Perhaps a bad batch or something?

As for the rest of the lines...too mild for me, but spot on construction...I do have a few Chiefs lying around for a raining day

You can't judge an entire company over one cigar from one particular brand.

That being said, I have something that we made for Holt's which is right up most of your alleys.

Jam - would you like to orchestrate this giveout? Same terms as the last one?

They went out at the end of last week. I needed to get them acclimated to a normal environment...

The one from me went out last week, Friday. They were a little dry when I got them, so wanted to make them normalized prior to sending out.
