I think it's less of a taste issue and more of an appearance issue. You look cool walking around chomping a big stogie right? You never see old pictures of men smoking a nub stabbed with a screwdriver do you? If you want to look cool, you gotta have at least a half or more of a cigar in your mouth or hand.

Naw. I just find that the last couple of inches of the cigar aren't as tasty as the first couple of inches.

I have to think about like that for a moment. It's true that a poor sampling of an entire stock could be discarded, seeing as how you have 20 more in the humidor. If the taste just went totally downhill, I suppose i'd chuck it and light up a new one.
